Okla Secures N1Million from LASG for Surgery of an infant in India

A-year-old girl, Mariam Olanrewaju who is affected with a life-threatening chronic heart related ailment diagnosed as Oesophageal Atresia with distal trachea-Oesophageal Fistula which required an urgent medical surgery has reportedly secured N1,000,000 financial assistance from the office of Civic Engagement through the referral of the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon.
The cheque of N1,000,000 was presented to the father of the girl Mr. Tajudeen Olanrewaju on Tuesday August 11, 2020 in support of her medical surgery in India to operate the chronic heart ailment.
The Lawmaker in a statement posted on his Facebook page yesterday titled "TOGETHER WE CAN SAVE A SOUL" broke the good news of securing One million naira cheque from the Lagos state Government through the office of Civic Engagement for the surgery of the girl in India after he was approached by her parent while at the same time calling on well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of the little girl by contributing their widows-mite
He noted in the statement that additional one million naira would however be needed for other miscellaneous expenses and thanked the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Special adviser on Civic Engagement Mr. Remi Adebowale for their kind gestures.
His full Statement: "Mariam Olanrewaju is the daughter of Mr & Mrs Tajudeen Olanrewaju who walked up to me in my office and sought help to save the life of his 10 weeks old baby challenged with heart related disease otherwise known as Oesophageal artesia with distal trachea oesophageal fistula. I have, through the office of civic engagement of Lagos state govt gotten #1 million cheque for her surgery to take place in India. Additional #1m is required for all other sundry expenses. I have also privately donated, yours is hereby sought. I hereby thank our responsive and responsible Governor Mr Babajide Sanwoolu and the Special Adviser Civic Engagement Remi Adebowale for their will, out of so many others to save this particular baby.

According to the documents made available to KosofeReporters by the Personal Assistant of the Lawmaker, Tope Kumuyi, Miss Mariam Olanrewaju was diagnosed with the heart ailment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja when she was 10 weeks Old.
In a document dated October 22 2019, She is said to be "presented with drooling of Saliva since birth... Clinical examination and plain radiography confirmed Oesophageal Atresia with distal trachea-Oesophageal Fistula... She has since been on sham feeding."
The father of the girl has however thanked Hon. Okanlawon for coming to their aid.
Mr. Olanrewaju who resides at No 12 Kareem Street Alapere, Ketu in Kosofe Constituency II in his appreciation message said: "I want to use this opportunity to say thank you to Hon. Okla. Thank you Sir. May Almighty Allah Continue to bless you. Forward Ever, Backward Never".
