KOSOFE CHAIRMAN'S CUP ENDS IN HIGH NOTE, AS OJOTA WINS MAIDEN EDITION

~Moyo Ogunlewe Reiterates Commitment to Youth & Sports Development The maiden edition of the Kosofe Local Government Chairman's Cup came to a scintillating end on Sunday with Ward F. Ojota emerging the winners at the final of the grassroots football competition held at Emmanuel Primary School, Ojota.  The football competition, which was aimed at promoting grassroots football and discovering young talents, saw seven teams from the seven wards in Kosofe Local Government area slugging it out for the top prize. The final match was a keenly contested encounter between Ward F Ojota and Ward B Oworo. Both teams displayed great skill and determination, entertaining the spectators with their impressive performances. At the end of the pulsating encounter Ward F, Ojota emerged the winners by defeating Oworo Ward B by  2-1. And were presented with the Chairman's Cup trophy and a cash prize of One Million Naira (N1,000,000). ...

MOYO OGUNLEWE CONGRATULATES BROTHER, SEYE, WHO LlFTS NIGERIA IN 4×100m RELAY.

The Executive Chairman of kosofe Local Government, (Hon). Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe has sent congratulatory message to his brother Adeseye Ogunlewe on his glittering performance at Commonwealth games currently going on in Birmingham, England. Seye, an erstwhile school boy international sprinter was part of the quartet comprising of Raymond Ekevwo, Favour Ashe, Alaba Akintola and Seye Ogunlewe who represented Nigeria in Commonwealth games hosted by Birmingham, England. Ogunlewe who anchored the last leg of 4×100m relay made Nigeria qualified for final alongside his colleagues in a record time of 38.85 seconds. Eulogising his 31 years cerebral and fleet-footed brother, Council boss said Seye is a gift to Nigeria and a shinning icon in a larger Ogunlewe family.

Excitement as Ikorodu wins final of Tokunbo Abiru Lagos East Gold Cup

  It was fun at the Police Barracks Stadium in Ikorodu on Sunday as the 1st Tokunbo Abiru Lagos East Gold Cup came to an exciting end.  The tough road to the final saw Oladunjoye FC of Ikorodu facing Destiny Boys as the last two in the male category of the competition. An impressive Destiny Boys, however, carried the day by defeating their opponent by three goals to nothing with the team's energetic striker scoring a hattrick. The final was played under the watchful eyes of thousands of electrified spectators who trooped in from different parts of the Senatorial district to watch what they described as a first of its kind from a political aspirant.                                                     The final also had in attendance top leaders of the All Progressives Party from the Senatorial district and beyond.  Earlier in the day, the f...
