Adebare/Oko Cole Transformer: Sofola Clears The Air, Tells Police He Did Not Order Relocation.

Matter partially resolved as Police calls for an amicable resolution.

Another transformer to be given to Adebare
Community by Kosofe LG
The erstwhile Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Hon. Afolabi
Sofola has blown the lid off a statement made to the Police by Kosofe Local
Government Area CDC Chairman, Mr. Segun Babatunde, that he gave the directive
for the relocation of a transformer belonging to Adebare Development Community
to Oko Cole Community in 2019 while he was in office.
Hon. Sofola was reportedly at the Zone II Command Headquarters,
Onikan on Tuesday to clear himself of any wrongdoing or involvement in the alleged
fraudulent relocation of the transformer following his invitation last week by
Zone II Command Headquarters.
Kosofe Reporters reliably gathered that the former council
chairman was visibly enraged over the allegation levelled against him and
vehemently declared to Zone II police personnel investigating the matter and
some other invited people from Kosofe LGA that contrary to the statement made
by Mr. Babatunde, he did not instruct him to take the controversial step.
It was also gathered that the former council chairman stated
that he couldn’t have ordered the relocation of the transformers without proper
documentation and without making provision for a replacement to the affected
community.
He, therefore, challenged anyone who thought otherwise to come up
with documents he had signed approving the relocation of the transformer.
Hon. Sofola however disclosed to the investigators that he was
only informed by the CDC Chairman that there was a transformer languishing in a
community at Oworo which needed to be repaired.
He said afterwards he never heard again from the CDC Chairman.
It will be recalled that the CDC Chairman had stated in a post
he posted on social media over a week ago, in response to the allegation of
stealing and selling a transformer levelled against him, that the chairman
instructed him to relocate the transformer to Oko Cole community.
However, the startling revelation by Hon. Afolabi Sofola at
Zone II on Tuesday has totally burst the bubble of the CDC Chairman and put
paid to the controversy surrounding the transformer.
Kosofe Reporters further learnt that Zone II command Headquarters
also advised both parties to go back home and resolve the matter amicably
before coming back to the command for final resolution.
One of the resolutions being put forward is the replacement of the Adebare Community Transformer by Kosofe Local Government after the conclusion of
proper investigation on the whereabouts of the controversial transformer.
