The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe has restated the commitment of his administration to the provision of Infrastructural facilities and good governance to the people of the local government area.

Barrister Ogunlewe disclosed this on Friday at a media parley he had with an online community media base in the Local Government Area.

While speaking to the group of online publishers on the need to establish synergy, workable partnership and good relationship in the area of disseminating the council’s activities and programmes, the council helmsman assured that the federal government monthly allocated revenue and the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the council would be prudently utilised for projects and programmes that would be beneficial to the people.

He said in a couple of weeks he would be celebrating his 100 days in office and ahead of it, his administration has concluded plans to embark on the construction of some key projects such as 10 roads in different areas of the local government, a health centre at Olojojo, completion of projects left by his predecessor and organising poverty alleviation and empowerment programme for youth and women.

According to the council chairman, construction work will begin this week on the health centre and the following streets: Abioye, Adebayo Mokuolu, Idowu Dada, Odubela, Awanatu, Ogungbemi, Julius Kadiri and Aran- Orin while customary court and Awanatu Primary school are about to be completed.

He also said assessment of all drainages in the local government area had been done in the rainy season and that work will commence on them after the rainy season.

Barrister Ogunlewe further disclosed that to save lives during an emergency, his administration has already acquired an ambulance that would be toll-free for the people residing in the local government area.

He added that four buses had also been acquired to boost revenue generation-drive of the council while two other ones would soon be added to it.

He said his administration is determined to reach the 200 million naira IGR target by next year, stressing that an increased Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Local Government is very key to the realisation of projects and services his administration has in the pipeline.

He said to this end, enumeration of commercial centres and hotels have commenced while the council has also devised a revenue collection strategy by awarding revenue collection to agents on three months contract basis.

He explained that if, after three months, the revenue collection agents are found wanting, their contracts would be revoked and awarded to other companies.
