WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS: THE ROTIMI AGUNSOYE'S EXAMPLE

This life is indeed not balanced at all both mentally, physically, psychologically and spiritually! Otherwise, how does one explain a situation where a brood of follies and ne'er-do-wells have made it unabashedly a duty to condemn  conscionable gift of "1 korope to 3" beneficiaries given by the present lawmaker where his predecessor could not even bring home ordinary bicycle ๐Ÿšฒ to the needy constituents. Yes, "kแบนkแบน" I mean. My people no be Juju be that? Or no be witch be that?๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Don't you think the mental state of people harbouring such an insane, moronic thought like that need to be examined by a top psychiatric doctor at Yaba left.

Axiomatically, before the emergence of Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye, youth and women empowerment programmes were alien to the people of this Constituency. If not, can someone tell me a time in the political annals of Kosofe Federal constituency in pre- Rotimi Agunsoye where groundbreaking empowerment programmes such as "Mega," Bugatti, among a host of others had been organized? Could someone tell me the particular event centres where such events took place and who were the beneficiaries?

While I anxiously wait for answers to the above questions, let me state emphatically and categorically that the previous MHRs contributed prodigiously to the high poverty rate in Kosofe federal Constituency because they were somehow insensitive to the plights of their teeming constituents.

Instead of investing astronomically in capacity building and empowerment of youth and women, they were busy accumulating filthy wealth, building houses in Dubai and Ghana.

No wonder the workload was too heavy on the incumbent MHR to alleviate by the time he got on the saddle. If his predecessors had done the needful by empowering a decent number of their hapless constituents, the story would have been totally different since government is a continuum. We would not be where we are today where a large number of people are chasing after a very limited facilitated materials. Otherwise, It would have been a merry-go-round thing for the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency.

One is, however, gladdened to behold the verve and energy with which Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye had taken it upon himself to change the unsavoury narrative by making it a top priority since assumption of office to pull his people out of the poverty abyss they had been plunged into through years of neglect, avarice and insensitivity.

Hence, the necessity of the facilitation of those propitious, lifesaving, salvaging empowerment programmes. The importance of those facilitated empowerment programmes in the lives of the beneficiaries cannot be overemphasized. Whether it is 1 for 3, 1 for 4 or 1 for 5, the fact is that the man has delivered where his predecessors had faltered woefully.

If not for Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye's exploits and efforts at the National Assembly, Kosofe people would still be circumscribed to the debilitating notion and repugnant thought that the only responsibility of a legislator is lawmaking. But it is more than that.

The Rotimi Agunsoye's example is vivifying, edifying and instructive. It has shown, demonstrated and proved to us beyond any reasonable doubt that Lawmakers too are capable of bringing the dividends of democracy in manifold ways, right to the hovels of their underprivileged Constituents.

The situation whereby a lawmaker would spend a howling 8 years at the green chamber only to retire to the verdant opulence of his living room without uplifting the standard of living of his people a jot at the time he had the opportunity is outstandingly bad, ignominious, unresponsive and selfish.

Such a leader who is now yearning for a return to the agora where he had lived large at the expense of his hapless constituents does not deserve to be earmarked by the people he had once neglected.

But the matter is very very simple: "We Rise By Lifting Others. And We Fall By Neglecting The Needy"

  1. I must confess that I have not seen any House Rep member since the time of Hon. Wunmi Lasisi till date, that has performed excellently well like Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, he has touched many lives within the various communities in Kosofe Federal Constituency.
