The newly installed traditional ruler of Oworonshoki Kingdom Oba Babatunde Saliu (Elebo II) has stated that his emergence and installation as Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom went through a normal traditional royal process contrary to misleading information being peddled on social media.

Oba Babatunde Saliu made the statement on Tuesday at his place in a chat with newsmen while celebrating his 21 days on the throne as the new King of Oworonshoki Kingdom.
Oba Babatunde Saliu explained that the collective efforts and support of Oworonshoki Kingmakers, the council of elders and Bashir Oloruntoyin Royal Family were behind his emergence as Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom.

He further revealed that in the process leading to the selection of the new Oloworo, 4 Kingmakers out 7 voted for him while he had the support of all the elders' council and Youth of Oworonshoki.
He said: "I didn't make myself a King. I went through the normal process. The process of selection. We have seven Kingmakers, I had 4, the other person had 2 while one was neutral. So what are we talking about?

Go to the community, before you can become a king they will ask you a few things. We have elders in Oworonshoki. It was a unanimous decision among them. Not even a person was against my selection."
He added that the people of Oworonshoki are very happy over his emergence and installation as the new Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom, noting that since his installation the community has been very peaceful while business activities are going on smoothly.

"I feel great, I feel so excited because my Kingdom has been very peaceful and calm. Business activities are going on well. There's no report of any form of criminality, no fight. Everybody is happy.

"If you go round the whole of Oworonshoki and Kosofe at large, you will see how happy people are and one person out of a million cannot say because he is not satisfied, the community should stand still. It is not possible.

" And ever since I ascended the throne the community has been very peaceful, the people have been very happy. Go to town, go round and do your verification, you will see that the people are so happy": he said.
The Oloworo of Oworonshoki however held out an olive branch to the aggrieved members of the family urging them to join hands with him to transform Oworonshoki Community

"The palace is open to everybody. We have stretched out our hands of friendship. We want everybody to come back. We will accept everybody and together we will build a better Community. The development of Oworonshoki is a collective responsibility".

Oba Babatunde Saliu also assured of his commitment to transforming the community of Oworonshoki into a beautiful model city, saying the people of the community should expect accelerated development.

He promised to bring to bear his intellectual capacity, connections and experiences acquired in both public and private spheres in the running of affairs of the Kingdom.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses. * Warned To Stop Addressing Himself As Honourable Kosofe Local Government Area CDC chairman Mr. Segun Babatunde has reportedly been arrested by the men of Nigeria Police Force, Zone Il Onikan Lagos, for allegedly relocating a transformer belonging to a community in Oworoshoki in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State fraudulently.
