"BRING FARM CITY TO OWORO": OBA BABATUNDE SALIU TELLS LANRE CAREW.

~LANRE CAREW ASSURES OLOWORO OF WORLD CLASS RECREATIONAL PARK

The paramount traditional ruler of Oworonshoki Kingdom HRM Alayeluwa Oba Babatunde Saliu has thrown a challenge to a popular hospitality business Mogul, Hon. Olanrewaju Carew, to establish a world-class recreational centre in his community.

Oba Babatunde Saliu made the request when the Chairman of Farm City group of companies r paid him a courtesy visit at his palace on Thursday.
Oba Babatunde Saliu while welcoming Hon. Carew and his entourage to his palace stated that his vision was to transform Oworonshoki into a smart city like Dubai and expressed disappointment that the community has no single recreational centre of high repute.

He, therefore, charged the well-known philanthropist who returned to the country after a long vacation in Dubai to establish a farm city in Oworonshoki.
"We have known you for quite a while. And we know your impact most especially in Kosofe politics.

"I know you have tried so much and you are still trying. May God take you to the promised land.
" We want development in Oworonshoki, a replica of Dubai. If you take a look at Oworonshoki, as big as it is, there is no single eatery in it.

"The development will not fall from the sky. It will be initiated by a person like you. We need a Farm City in Oworonshoki just like the one at Ogudu. But it may be located just beside the lagoon.
"Please put it in your plan, everything should not be Dubai alone": Oba Babatunde Saliu said.

Responding, Hon. Carew promised the monarch he would establish a recreational centre with state-of-the-art facilities which would be an important tourist destination.
While observing the nonavailability of a standard recreational park in Kosofe local government area, Hon. Carew disclosed that his vision was to turn Kosofe Local Government into an attractive tourist destination through the establishment of a world-class recreational park that will have a rollercoaster, hotel, water park, lawn tennis court, Gyms, boats, and restaurant among others.
He said: " Kabiyesi, I will throw the challenge back to you. Just find me a good location and I promise I will bring Farm City to Oworonshoki.

"In December we are going to open Farm City in Abuja. And I plan to open Farm City in every city in Nigeria. After Abuja, it will be Oworonshoki. And it is going to be a mega project.
" Kosofe does not have a world-class recreational park. But my vision is to establish a standard recreational park that will have a rollercoaster, hotel, restaurant, water park, lawn tennis court, boats etc.

"A place where tourists from other countries can come and spend a few days and where people from the Island can visit with their boats.
"It will generate income for the community and create employment for the youth".

Hon. Carew thanked the monarch for receiving him at his palace and disclosed that he was a close friend of the late Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom Oba Bashir Oloruntoyin Saliu.

While describing Oba Babatunde Saliu as a humble and very friendly person who he had had positive interaction with during their 2021 local government chairmanship aspiration, he implored him to create a level playing ground for everybody irrespective of their tribal, social, religious and political affinities.

Hon Carew was accompanied to the palace of Oloworo by the former Kosofe LGA party chairman Alhaji Seidu, the Mandate Group Coordinator Kosofe Local Government Area, Otunba Bowale Benson; the former Chairman of Ward Chairmen, Mr. Sunday Àjàyí aka SMA and the former Supervisor for Environment Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Adéwálé Ajibosin, among others.
