Police Launch Manhunt For Thugs In Oworo Who Allegedly Killed Ex-Councillorship Aspirant Over N5000 "Owo Omonile"

The police in Lagos have launched a manhunt for two land grabbers in Oworoshoki, Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State, who killed a former councillorship aspirant of the community, Samsondeen Ali over N5000 "owo Omonile"

Ali was reportedly murdered on Saturday by one Nurudeen Suraju and Lukmon Taiwo aka "Bobalade of Oworoshoki" while he was erecting a fence around his house on Aralamo Street.

Another account has it that the deceased was killed by the two land grabbers while he was trying to erect a fence to block a loophole in his residential area, Precious Seed Estate, where cases of stolen building materials had been reported.

Suraju and Taiwo were reported to have stormed the construction site to accoast the deceased for N5000 "Owo Omonile" before he could be allowed to continue with construction activities.

The incident, however, took a tragic turn when Samsondeen Ali was hit with a plank on his head and a shovel collected from one of the labourers on the chest which made him slump.

Sensing the enormity of the attack on their victim, Suraju and Taiwo quickly put him in the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) they drove to the scene of the attack and rushed him to the nearby, Afolabi Medical Hospital where they were later referred to Gbagada General Hospital.

In the process of moving him to Gbagada General Hospital, the former councillorship aspirant reportedly gave up the ghost making the two land grabbers disappear into the thin air leaving behind their SUV.

The Police have, however, begun a manhunt for the suspects as the case had been referred to the criminal investigation department in Panti, Yaba.

Until his untimely death on Saturday Samsondeen Ali was a prominent and staunch member of the All Progressives Congress in Kosofe Local Government Area.

Meanwhile, political and community leaders have expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased and called for calm among residents.

They have also urged the government to take urgent action in addressing the issue of land grabbing in Oworonshoki and other parts of the state, as it has become a recurring problem that threatens the peace and security of the community.

The incident in Oworonshoki underscores the urgent need for the government to take proactive measures to tackle this problem and protect citizens from the menace of "Omonile".

As investigations continue, the community mourns the loss of an ambitious and dedicated individual whose life was tragically cut short.

The hope now is that justice will prevail and that this crime will serve as a wake-up call to address the issue of land grabbing in Oworonshoki and across the country.
