Former Ward C Councillor, IBO, Joins Kosofe Chairmanship Race
Ibraheem Bakare Olawale, a former councillor of ward C in Kosofe local government, has officially announced his intention to run for the position of Kosofe Local Government Chairman in the 2025 elections.
Olawale popularly known as "IBO" by his teeming political admirers made the declaration early this morning through a statement posted on various Whatsapp group platforms.
In his statement, Ibo expressed his commitment to providing fair and responsible governance that serves the interests of the people of Kosofe.
He also highlighted his belief in the power of unity and collaboration, stating that with the support of the community, he can achieve his goals.
IBO, who is well-known in the area for his previous work as a councillor and was the Chief Whip of Kosofe Local Government Legislative Arm from 2017 - 2021, is confident in his ability to bring positive change to Kosofe Local Government Area.
He promises to roll out a detailed manifesto in the near future, outlining his plans for the local government.
"Greetings my beloved people of Kosofe! My name is Honorable Ibraheem Bakare Olawale and I humbly tender a notice of my intention to contest for the position of Chairman, Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State in the next dispensation, Insha Allah Bikudiratulilahi.
"I am motivated by my commitment to administer a fair and responsible governance that serves the interests of our people.
"Once again, I will be banking on the special grace of the Almighty, your unwavering support and my precedents to actualize this feat. It is indeed possible and together we can achieve it.
"I shall roll out a detailed manifesto in due time. Thank you!
"Hon. Ibraheem Bakare Olawale ( IBO)", he declared.
The announcement is already generating mixed reactions among the residents of Kosofe, with many wondering whether IBO possesses the capacity to give the incumbent chairman Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe a run for his money.
As the 2025 elections draw closer, it is now left to be seen how far Ibraheem Bakare Olawale will go with his ambition to dislodge the incumbent council chairman.
