Moyo Ogunlewe Pays Courtesy Visit To Oloworo of Oworo.

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom, HRM Oba Babatunde Saliu.  During the visit, the duo had a lengthy discussion on the infrastructural development of Oworonsoki Kingdom and the needs of the people in the area.  Chief among the proposed projects is the construction of a standard Market Square in Oworonsoki to foster community development, provide values to local businesses, support local vendors, petty traders and also stimulate foreign investment within the Local Government.

AGUNSOYE EMPOWERS 150 CONSTITUENTS ON FISHERIES WITH 18M

Less than a week after empowering 200 youth and women with a total package of N10,000 million for catering the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye has again empowered another set of 150 constituents with a total amount of 18 million naira as start-up capital on Fisheries. This followed the completion of two-day intensive training on Fisheries Value Chains Aquaculture by 150 indigent constituents at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology Victoria Island Lagos on Tuesday. The empowerment programme was facilitated by the Lawmaker to create employment and develop the human capacity of his teeming youth in Kosofe Federal Constituency. And at the end of the practical aspect of the training on Tuesday, 150 beneficiaries were presented certificates and cheques of N120,000 each.

No fewer than 150 constituents of Kosofe Federal Constituency are presently undergoing a two-day training on Fisheries Value Chains Aquaculture at the Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Lagos. The training was facilitated by the Lawmaker representing the Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives Hon. FACT CHECK: KOSOFE LG CHAIRMAN DID NOT PAY LESS SALARIES TO HIS EXECUTIVES

Last week Thursday, a Facebook page, Kosofe Headline, posted a write-up titled: "Kosofe Local Government Chairman and His Rubber stamp excos/Cabinet" where it alleged among other things, that the executive chairman of Kosofe local government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe had been paying his executives salaries below the amount stipulated by the Lagos State Government. According to the Facebook page, the council Chairman had been paying a monthly salary of N300,000 instead of N328,666:82 stipulated by the Lagos State Government. Then on Saturday, to substantiate its claim, it published a document showing the approved salary scales for public office holders in each local government in Lagos state. In the document dated 4th May, 2022 addressed to all the council Chairmen, titled: "Re Welfare Package For Political Office Holders Across The LGAs/LCDAs In Lagos State and signed by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs,

Onikosi of Ikosi, 3 others docked over alleged forgery of S-Court judgement

A monarch in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State Oba Alami Oloyede Onikosi, the Onikosi of Ikosi was on Tuesday arraigned by the Federal Government before the Federal High Court in Abuja over his alleged complicity in the forgery and falsification of a judgement of the Supreme Court. Oba Onikosi was docked alongside three others on a seven-count charge that also contained an allegation of perjury. The other defendants in the charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/242/2022, were Muyideen Fabunmi, Alademehim Samuel and High Chief Michael Adesegun Onikoro. Specifically, it was alleged in the charge signed by Police Prosecutor, CSP Joe Nwadike, that the defendants had sometimes in 2018, forged a Supreme Court judgement in suit No. 117 of 1936, “with spurious inscriptions as A739972 and 7/6/75, purported to have been delivered by one Justice C. KOSOFE LG DEBUNKS ALLEGATIONS LEVELLED AGAINST COUNCIL BOSS, SAYS PUBLICATION IS FALLACIOUS, MALICIOUS

Kosofe Local Government has described a publication of an online Facebook page which was titled: "Kosofe Local Government Chairman and His Rubber-stamp Exco/Cabinet Members" (sic) as fallacious and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of its executive chairman Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe. The Local Government made the statement on Friday in an interview granted by its Secretary to the Local government, Prince Fatai Gbadebo, at the local government Secretariat. Prince Gbadebo who expressed shock and disgust over the publication told newsmen that there was no scintilla of truth in the statement of executive high-handedness, contract inflation, short payments of executive members' salaries and running of the affairs of the local government as a personal property made against the local government chairman by the Facebook page.
