Kosofe LG, SOHCAHTOA Foundation Distribute 325 GCE Forms to Indigent Students

Kosofe Local Government in conjunction with SOHCAHTOA Foundation on Wednesday at the council's secretariat presented 325 free GCE forms to indigent students in the community. The presentation of the free GCE forms was undertaken by the executive Chairman of the local government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe who was represented by his vice chairman Hon. Oluwole Sosanya. Barrister Ogunlewe in his keynote address emphasized the importance of education to the socioeconomic development of the country and his administration's commitment to providing opportunities to students to enhance their academic performance. While thanking the SOHCAHTOA foundation for partnering the local government by providing additional 150 GCE forms for the second consecutive years, he noted that his administration placed high premium on education development and as such would not toy with the future of the students by playing politics with it.  &quo

Demolition of Shanties In Oworo Is In Line With The Lagos State Development Master Plan and Kosofe Development Plan

By Olusegun Apena In line with the development master plan of the Lagos State,  the administration of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu carried out a series of demolitions of illegal structures and shanty across various government acquisition land.  One such area where the demolition exercise was recently carried out is Oworoshoki in Kosofe Local Government Area. Several shanties and illegally built structures along the Oworonshoki waterfront were completely demolished by a special task force from the Lagos State Ministry of Environment . A significant number of people were displaced and rendered homeless as a result of the demolition exercise. The action consequently elicited huge public outcry, widespread condemnation and several protestations which prompted the Lagos State House of Assembly to call for the immediate suspension of further demolition of structures in the area. It also raised questions over the legality of the action of the state government to effect the demolition. 

Fuel Subsidy Removal: Moyosore Ogunlewe Launches Free Food Bank Initiative, Distributes Food Packs To Kosofe Residents

In his bid to alleviate the hardship being experienced by the residents of Kosofe Local Government occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe has launched a Free Food Bank Initiative. The free food bank Initiative was launched on Tuesday at the local government secretariat by the council chairman with the distribution of free food packs consisting of rice, beans, and garri. Over 5,000 residents, including aged men, women, and youth who had stormed the secretariat as early as 8 am benefited from the distribution of free food packs.  In a chat with newsmen, the council Chairman stressed the importance of providing succour to the most vulnerable members of society during challenging times, adding that the initiative is part of his welfare programme for the residents of the local government area. Motorists and residents in Kosofe Local Government Area can now heave a sigh of relief over the deplorable state of roads in the area as the Local Government Council has commenced comprehensive rehabilitation of bad potions in a bid to address the deteriorating state of its road infrastructure. Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe has taken the initiative to establish a free food bank, which aims to provide essential food supplies to those in need within the Kosofe Local Government area. The free food bank is a manifestation of the local government's commitment to mitigating the impact of socioeconomic challenges faced by the residents.
