Eid-el-kabir: Okla calls for obedience, tolerance; prays for the repose of Osinowo, Braimoh

The lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon has called for tolerance, unity, obedience and peaceful coexistence among all Nigerians in accordance to the symbolism of Eid-el-Kabir.
The lawmaker who performed Eid prayer at his residence yesterday with members of his family urged his constituents, Lagosians and Nigerians in general to imbibe the lessons inherent in the significance of Eid-el-Kabir by being totally submissive to the will of Allah and Obedient to the government of the land.
While narrating how Prophet Ibrahim in fulfilment and Obedience to the vow he made to Allah to sacrifice his first son, Hon. Okanlawon stress that Nigerians must be tolerant and obey all government laws and directives including the one on Corona virus pandemic for peaceful coexistence and progress.
His words: "Today we celebrate another Eid with significance to what happened in the past in terms of request and acceptance. Prophet Ibrahim sought from Allah a child and promised if given he would sacrifice the child and God did. 
"He did it in obedience to the promise to Allah. This resonates the fact or signpost that we must all be obedient to the will of Allah and submit totally to his will. Eid-el-kabir teaches tolerance, peaceful coexistence, unity and obedience. 

"I want to advise my constituents, Lagosians and Nigerians we must be tolerant of ourselves in whatever we engaged. We must eschew violence and be united in everything we do. That's what can breed progress and peaceful coexistence. We must cooperate with Government, we must heed and obey all the directives of government.

"For instance the protocols on coronavirus pandemic. We must all adhere to these protocols. If we heed to these protocols we are helping ourselves. We will help reduce the transmission of the disease. We help reduce the pestilence on our land."


The lawmaker therefore appealed to his constituents to obey protocols on washing of hands with soaps, application of hand sanitizer, avoidance of crowded area, social distancing and use of face masks so as to reduce the rate of the pandemic.

And as constituents of Kosofe Constituency 1 join the rest of the world to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, the Lawmaker prayed for the repose of the souls of Sen. Adebayo Osinowo and Barrister Tunde Braimoh. 

He prayed Allah to forgive their iniquities and grant them Aljanna firdaus.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses.
