POLITICAL ASSOCIATES, FAMILY MEMBERS, RELATIVES, FRIENDS, BID FAREWELL TO MOSUNMOLA SOFOLA, AS 8 DAYS FIDAU IS HELD FOR HER REPOSE
The eight days firdau prayer for the repose of the soul of

The firdau prayer started off at exactly 10 o’ clock in the
morning with the team of Islamic clerics from Kosofe Local Government Area and
Ikenne- Remo in Ogun state offering special prayers for the repose of the
deceased.
And at about 10 o’clock in the morning, the venue of the
event had already been filled up with invited guests who came from far and near
to pay their last respect to the wife of Kosofe Local Government Chairman who
died last week Saturday after a brief illness.
Among the notable dignitaries that came to bid farewell to
Late Alhaja Sofola was the wife of the deputy Governor of Lagos State Mrs.
Hamzat, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, the executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Osinowo and the Director of Special Duties of Tkunbo Abiru Campaign Team, Hon. Musiliu
Aigoro..
Meanwhile, close relatives, friends, colleagues and political
associates of the late Alhaja Mosunmola Sofola have paid glowing tributes to
her, eulogising and extoling her good virtues when she was alive.
In many of the tributes, late Alhaja Sofola is described as a
kind-hearted, generous, caring, humble, loving and altruistic personality who
dedicated her entire life to the service of humanity.
These are some of the tributes:
Indescribable God with his unexplainable deeds. Death has
dealt yet another big blow to one of us - MARYLANDER Alhaja Ganeeyat Mosunmola
Sunmola- Sofola, the Matriarch of the Sunmola's family. A very important
personality to us in Mende and Kosofe Local Government generally. A devoted
practicing Muslim, a wife of inestimable value. a philanthropist par
excellence, a live-and-let-live person, a very resourceful leader and
Chairperson of committee of the wives of Council chairmen; a caring mother who
will be SORELY missed by her amazing children. Stern, firm, bold but loving.
While reminiscing, I remembered we attended the Ile-kewu Alh. Badejo of blessed
memory on Adesoye st. Mende, Maryland together some 44 years ago (1976). I once
made a request for her which she gladly granted. That request, I cannot forget
in a hurry. Her loss to me is a deep wound in my heart. It pains but as a
Muslim, it is total submission to the will of the Almighty Allah. May Allah swt
accept her return, forgive her inequities, grant the family and friends the
fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss and grant her repose Aljanat Firdaus.
Farahun warayanah wajanati naheem. Goodnight Ganeeyat Mosunmola.

desired to have you continually with us but God giveth and taketh. Sleep well
ma...until the resurrection of the saint in the Lord's bosom. Adieu!

My heart is completely shattered at the news of the death of
my bosom friend of about thirty years. Mosun, you bestrode this world with
enthusiasm, dedication and love which were the many virtues that drew you to
me. Your boundless energy was unique to you and only you; your loyalty and
unwavering support to your friends was beyond belief.
Sadly, you are no longer here. However, you remain ever near.
Your memories are treasured within my heart. You were ever so precious and
dear. You were one in a million, ever wonderful, unforgettable and
irreplaceable.
You will always be the precious and unique friend I loved so
dearly. While you may be out of sight, you will live forever in my heart and
mind. To your family that you left behind, my prayer is that they find the
strength to bear this irreparable loss.

My heart is heavy, my head blank, don't know what to write
Mosunmola.
We had plans and your death is definitely not one of them. My
sister, friend, confidant, my kids second mum, gist partner, my heart is
bleeding, you stood by me when I needed you most, you encouraged me never to
give up and rejoiced with me when our testimonies arrived.
Mosun, I thought we were going to grow old together, what
about all the talks of what we will do when our children are getting married
and when we are aged?
I was shocked at the news of your death, and when I recovered
I became very angry with you. We spoke several times on Friday saying we will
continue Saturday morning, how can you go like that without telling me, when
you always told me that you couldn’t hide anything from me. But going through
the event of the last two weeks before your death, I realised you were talking
to me but I just wasn't listening. It's now I understand clearly what you told
me on your birthday.
Go in peace my darling; go with your heart of gold that cannot
bear to listen to the news of any need in anyone's life. You can give the last
Kobo in your account to help anyone in need. Go in peace and meet your maker
that you loved so dearly.
Your passion to serve
and please God was incomparable, mother of the motherless, helper of widows,
reliable and ever constant friend, lover of peace and happiness, you cherished
family relationships so much.
"Mrs J, I want people around me to be happy:" that's
what you always told me over and over, and you would do and sacrifice anything
to ensure this.
Go in peace Mosunmola, now you are free. You touched the lives
of people that crossed your path in a way that they can never ever forget you.
So you will always be in our hearts.
Thank God for all the good times we had, we will keep them
close to our hearts.
It's going to be lonely without you but God will strengthen
us. My Tamilore told me to stop crying, she said you will wake up tomorrow
because you promised to buy her floral dress when next you travelled on her
last birthday. She did not understand you have gone on a journey of no return.
My kids grew up in your house, they spend the early part of their lives at
Anthony. Once I dropped them there with their nanny, I was off, knowing Mummy
Dammy would take care of them.
Rest in Peace Abiyamo gidi, your boys will make you proud.
Your name and legacy they will preserve, cherish and keep like you did for your
parents by God's Grace.
Dear Lord please grant Mosunmola rest, forgive all her
shortcomings and remember all her good deeds.
Good bye darling, love you much even in death.
Omotola Jatto (Mrs J)
She lived a life of worth and value. Mosun had impact on
immediate and extended family, in faith based organizations, at work and in
philanthropic activities.
Her smile, wisdom, humility and respect for everyone she came
in contact with will be greatly missed.
Her exit at this time is painful. But, we are comforted
knowing that she is now with her God free from fears and worries.
May God comfort her family and watch over her children.
Till we meet to part no more. RIP.

Our Dearest Mosunmola,
It's been so hard thinking of your demise, and harder to think
about you or refer to you in the past tense. All The Girls still find it
difficult to believe that you are no longer a part of us. For almost 20 years
now, we have shared a friendship, a sisterhood, and you have been there for us
all through the time.
As the Secretary of The Girls for a good number of years, you
brilliantly discharged your duties. You believed so strongly in our union that
you invested your time, money, and love into everyone. You were always ready to
give; always ready to lend a helping hand. You never held back your love. With
succulent palms, sweet voice, wide shoulders, and listening ears, you welcomed
every troubled heart.
Mosunmola, your kind is indeed very rare. We are blessed to
call you sister and friend. You loved unconditionally, and stood by everyone
through thick and thin. Your time with us was very impactful, remarkable, and
indeed unforgettable.
Thank you, Mosunmola, for coming our way.
Rest on, dear sister. We will forever cherish all memories of
you.

Alhaja Mosunmola Sofola a dear sister, friend and confidant.
You were so dear to me and always stood by me. Even at the most critical trying
time of my life. You proved beyond words that you were more than a sister. You
advised me accordingly and made me believe for everything Allah has been
faithful to me. The news of your demise hit me so hard, and still like a mirage
that I couldn’t believe you have gone forever. May you find solace in the
comfort of Allah & in His infinite mercies overlook your excesses and
shortcomings.
I also pray to Allah to grant your beloved & adorable the
resilient & fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. You’re a rear gem.
May Allah grant you Alijanat Fridaous. Amin.
Alhaja Omolola Oyesanya.
My Dear Sis,
Words can only describe how best you have lived, your
encounter with others and your relationship with the Almighty.
But words can never explain our non-verbal talks filled with
silent understanding of issues and the bridge you have systematically built
linking all of us together.
Hmmnn...it was easy to tell you anything and I used to betray
my emotions around you. I, Kehinde and Idowu will never forget those years you
and Alhaja never stopped being our mum.
That peace, love and joy you have always clamoured for are now
eternally yours.
Love and miss you Sis.

Auntie Mosun,
You were a warrior and a good one at that! Akinkanju obirin...
you were close to perfection. Your watch-word to me is: “what is worth doing is
worth doing well”. I have beautiful
memories of you to last a life time. You
were always willing and available to put things right... your unspoken words,
your touch and your big heart paved way for so many. Your multidimensional role in us your
children's (stepping up to be my parent while being a sister) lives will always
be part of our success story. Your memory will forever linger on... I love and
will miss you. I take solace in the fact that you lived a fulfilled life. Sun

Mosunmola Ganiyat Sunmola Sofola, you were a woman of
integrity and honesty; very compassionate to everyone you came in contact
with. The Sunmola/ Sofola families have
lost a rare gem that will take a while to replace. I pray Allah to grant you Aljanah fridaus and
forgive you all your misdeeds. Mosunmola sun re oo.

Aunty Mosun, not in two decades did I think I'll be writing a
farewell tribute to you, but who are we to query the Almighty?
If tears could build a stairway and heartaches make a lane,
we'd walk our way to heaven and bring you right back.
Aunty Mosun, I'll forever cherish the memories we shared
together. I'ld never forget how you used to make yourself available at my
memorable event as a child and even an adult.
My wedding ceremony, my wedding Thanksgiving in Ikenne, Ogun
state, your hospital visits when I had my babies, their naming ceremonies and
their birthdays too... I would miss you sister, I will.
I'll miss your bubbly self, your charming smile, your event
planning skills and your attention to details in all you do.
Sun re o, Omo Sunmola. I love you beyond words can Express.

SIIIIIMO! MUSLIMAT! As

lived a good life and served God whole heartedly hence we are assured that you
are in a better place.
