*Doles Out 50 Mini Buses To Indigent Youths, 40 wheelchairs To Physically Challenged.

 House of Representatives member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye yesterday capped off his three-day projects commissioning in grand style with his 59th birthday celebration with thousands of constituents as Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Speaker of Federal House Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of state for Health, Sen. Olorunimbe Mamora; Lagos East Senatorial District senator, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru and senator Anthony Adefuye paying him glowing tributes for impactful representation.

The birthday celebration which was held at the expansive Funplex Resort, otherwise Known as CMD event place Shangisha, Lagos, was agog with thousands of well-wishers such as Royal fathers, party chieftains, party members, Artisan, Traders, Market Women, religious leaders, community leaders and other ethnic nationalities coming from the length and breadth of the State to felicitate with the astute lawmaker whom many fondly referred to as “the Promise Keeper”.  

Hon. Agunsoye who turned 59 last week Wednesday also used the opportunity of the occasion to empower 15 indigent youth of the constituency with newly branded mini buses; gave out 40 wheelchairs to the physically challenged and N10,000 each to 120 widows.

The mini buses and the wheelchairs were presented to the intended beneficiaries by the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Some of the beneficiaries are Dauda Atitebi, Charity Onyekwere, kunle fawole, Yele Ogunti, Adekoya Adedoyin, Adenuga Adewale and Patience Nwachukwu. While the 40 wheelchairs were presented to the chairman of the physically challenged people in Kosofe federal constituency Mr. Tajudeen Abolore Ayetobi for onward distribution to his members.

The Governor in his Keynote address, lauded Hon. Agunsoye for laudable initiatives and projects he has facilitated to his constituency.

 

Mr. Sanwo-Olu said, “I want to use this opportunity to thank Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye. It will be very difficult to dislike what he is doing, even if you don’t like him, because this booklet speaks volume of what he has been able to do today as an honourable member in federal house of Representatives. 

“I think he deserves all the encouragement. You can see all the multitude of crowd that are here today. So Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye deserves all commendations and words of encouragement that were given to him.

“It doesn’t start today, I was with him when he celebrated his 50th and 55th birthdays and I remembered all the things he did. My prayer is that by next year when he is going to be sixty, he will do much more than he has done today.

“This for us will test the popularity of our party in the forthcoming local government elections. You have seen the multitude of crowd that have come here to support him and support our party APC. And you can also see the entire leadership of the party.

“Our local government elections that will be done in three months’ time will be peaceful by the grace of God. And the right candidates will emerge because you know that we don’t have any opposition in Lagos state. The opposition is within ourselves and we will do it well”. 

While the speaker of Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila stated categorically that Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye has performed excellently and deserved to be returned to the house for third term.

He said: “Rotimi Agunsoye has done very well; he has done well on the floor and off the floor. He is an accomplished legislator, a seasoned politician and democrat. I urge all the people of Kosofe to continue to rally round him.

“I was here for empowerment programme a couple of years ago. But he keeps getting better and better with each empowerment programme he does. What he has done today, I now have to go back to Surulere to better what he is doing today. ‘Rotimi ti le wa lere’ (Rotimi has put us on the run).

“What he has done can best be described as acts of great commitment, dedication, passion and love for his constituents.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank Rotimi for showing what representation should be. I want to thank the people of Kosofe for supporting my brother over the years. I urged them to keep supporting him even for his third term ambition.”

On the forthcoming local government election in Lagos State, the speaker appealed to party members to remain united and work for the success of the party at the polls.

The minister of state for Health, Sen. Olorunimbe Mamora while praising Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye for his exploit as a lawmaker, used the analogy of the biblical three wise men to give support to third term ambition.

Sen. Mamora said, “You know the three wise men who presented Jesus with gifts came from the east, we are in Lagos East, so ROT is a Wiseman”.

In his good will message, Senator Tokunbo Abiru representing Lagos East Senatorial District at the upper Legislative Chamber commended Hon. Agunsoye for choosing to celebrate birthday with his constituents, describing it as an act worthy of emulation.

He also thanked him for the support he gave him during the last Lagos East Senatorial Bye- election as well as acknowledging the various projects he facilitated to the constituency.

 

“Today is an opportunity for me to come back to Kosofe, to thank all the members of APC for the support they gave me during the last Lagos east senatorial bye- election. I want to say a big thank you.

“I want to also use this opportunity to warmly congratulate the celebrant and to also acknowledge the fact that celebrating in this manner with your constituents, rather than throwing a party, is the way to go. And that is what you are exhibiting and I salute you for that. It is a step that is worthy of emulation and trust me, I think our other colleagues in the National Assembly would love to work with this.

“Having said that, I also must acknowledge all the various things you have done for the constituents, starting from the ICT, the provision of Boreholes and all the other laudable things you have done, are very salutary. All I can say is that the only reward for good work is more work.

“And from the booklet you distributed, I can also see your contributions to national discuss in terms of bills and motions. These show the kind of quality representation that you are”, Senator Abiru said.

While Senator Anthony Adefuye, the vice-chairman of Lagos East Senatorial Leader said, “ROT you are doing very well. Other members are doing the same thing but I am proud of you. When I looked at the high table and I see most of you that are coming behind us, I am so proud that this are the people we are going to hand over to.

“We are going to have our local government in 90 days, I am very sure that we are the only party in Lagos state today. The only party is APC. I therefore appealed to all of you who are vying for various positions to know very well that we are from APC. We have allowed you to choose whoever you want, please don’t spoil the chance”.
