Hon. Olayinka Rabiu popularly Known as “Whyttee” has joined Kosofe Local
Government Chairmanship race yesterday after declaring his intention to vie for
the chairmanship seat at Kosofe LGA APC secretariat.
Hon. Rabiu
made his official declaration to contest for the Local government hot seat
before Kosofe LGA APC caretaker committee headed by Alhaji Kehinde Bello and
some of his ardent supporters.
While making
his official declaration, Hon. Rabiu who aspired for Lagos state House of
Assembly seat in Kosofe Constituency 1 in 2019, stated that his desire to be an active participant in the development of Kosofe Local Government, rather than being an armchair critic, was the major reason for aspiring for the chairmanship
post.
And while
stating that he was aware of the enormous task of being a council chairman, he
promised to run an all-inclusive Local Government administration irrespective
of the ethnic, religious, political and social background of the people if given
the mantle of leadership.
He also
promised to take as priority Youth development, women empowerment and welfare
of the party leaders and members of the local government.
He added that
to bring desire change to the Local Government, he would nevertheless
focus his attention primarily on improving the Local Government Internally
Generated Revenue (IGR), noting that execution of any laudable development
programme is contingent on the availability of adequate funds.
He therefore
urged the party members who will decide the fate of all the aspirants in the
forthcoming chairmanship primary election to be guided by their conscience by
supporting his aspiration and eschew any form of financial inducement to vote
for a particular aspirant.
He made it
Known that after his official declaration, he would henceforth embark on a tour
of wards in the local government to acquaint party stakeholders of his
political agenda and to also mobilize towards the direct primary election.
