SOFOLA DEBUNKS ALLEGATION OF PAYING OVER 2.5 MILLION UNDER DURESS TO LAGOS LAWMAKER, SANNI OKANLAWON
Kosofe Local Government has debunked the claim made by an online community media that its Executive Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola made an inappropriate payment of over 2.5 million naira under duress to the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanni Okanlawon after he was pressured by the Lagos State House of Assembly. The Local Government debunked the story of the online media through a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary and Senior Special Adviser on Press Matters to the council chairman, Taiwo Fadipe which was made available to Kosofe Reporters, It described the news publication as “totally apocryphal, mischievous and figment of imagination”, stressing that the local government had never owed the lawmaker any money and neither had the lawmaker been receiving a monthly allowance which was stopped by the executive chairman. It therefore appealed to the residents of the local government to ignore the story, s
