SOFOLA DEBUNKS ALLEGATION OF PAYING OVER 2.5 MILLION UNDER DURESS TO LAGOS LAWMAKER, SANNI OKANLAWON

Kosofe Local Government has debunked the claim made by an online community media that its Executive Chairman, Hon. Afolabi Sofola made an inappropriate payment of over 2.5 million naira under duress to the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanni Okanlawon after he was pressured by the Lagos State House of Assembly. The Local Government debunked the story of the online media through a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary and Senior Special Adviser on Press Matters to the council chairman, Taiwo Fadipe which was made available to Kosofe Reporters,  It described the news publication as “totally apocryphal, mischievous and figment of imagination”, stressing that the local government had never owed the lawmaker any money and neither had the lawmaker been receiving a monthly allowance which was stopped by the executive chairman.     Commercial activities in Agboyi-Ketu area were almost grinded to a halt yesterday as Agboyi-Ketu All Progressives Congress Kicked off its electioneering campaign for the chairmanship flagbearer, Mayor Dele Osinowo, and other councillorship candidates for the fast approaching July 24 Local Government elections.   The Agboyi-Ketu All Progressives Congress party secretariat situated at 42 Doyin Omololu Street, Ketu was yesterday’s afternoon agog and resplendent as thousands of party loyalists, Artisans, Traders, other ethnic nationalities and physically challenged thronged the venue of the campaign Kick-off to give their supports to the incumbent executive chairman of the council for another term in office.   The atmosphere at the party secretariat was also electrifying with razzmatazz and fanfare as the mammoth gathering were treated to delightful music and entertainment by various local musicians and Hillary Jackson Dancing group.
