ADEBARE / OKO-COLE TRANSFORMER: SOFOLA, OTHERS TO BE QUIZZED NEXT WEEK
The Police at Zone II command Headquarters, Onikan has now
fixed the interrogation of former Chairman of Kosofe Local Hon. Afolabi Sofola
and other people implicated in the illegal relocation or sale of a transformer belonging
to Adebare Development Community to Oko-Cole community, Oworo to Tuesday
September, 28.
A reliable source in Zone II told Kosofe Reporters that the
former council boss was expected at its Community Police Department yesterday
to explain his involvement in the shady deal but pleaded for the interrogation
to be shifted to next week Tuesday as he was unable to visit the command
headquarters due to his tight schedule.
The invitation of Hon. Sofola by the Police followed the
statement made by Kosofe Local Government Area Community Development Committee
(CDC) Chairman, Mr. Segun Babatunde to the Zone II Community Police Department
that the former council chairman was the person that directed him to “relocate”
the transformer to Oko- Cole Community in 2019.
A leader in Adebare Development Community, Chief Mrs. Adebare
had petitioned the Police Department accusing Mr. Babatunde of selling a transformer
belonging to the community fraudulently to Oke-Cole Community in 2019.
However, Hon. Afolabi Sofola has refuted the claim made by Mr.
Babatunde disclosing to very close political associates that he did not instruct
the CDC Chairman to relocate the controversial transformer in 2019 without
following due process.
Next week interrogation by Zone II Command Headquarters is
expected to put to bed controversy surrounding the community transformer.
Meanwhile, the CDC
Chairman was able to raise about 8000 Naira from some members of the community
on Sunday as part of money needed to complete his bail.
The CDC Chairman was reported to have called the meeting of
community leaders to request for financial assistance stating that he only had
about 60000 naira with him out of 200000 naira needed to complete his bail.
