NEW POLITICAL GROUP, KANDAHAR, EMERGES IN KOSOFE

A new political group, known as "Kandahar", has emerged in Kosofe Local Government area of Lagos State, Kosofe Reporters can authoritatively report.

The new group which is gradually taking proper shape and form is reported to be an alignment of some notable political actors of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the local government Area and is spearheaded by one of the GAC Members in Lagos state.

Although, the group is yet to be officially known as "Kandahar", political watchers and analysts in the local government have, however, started to use the word "Kandahar" - the name of a city in Afghanistan and the name of a pen used in olden days - to describe the group of party members aligning with one of the GAC members in the local government.

Investigation by Kosofe Reporters, reveals that the group surreptitiously came into existence by a stroke of chance during the All Progressives Congress local government primary elections as aspirants and party chieftains in desperate attempt to outsmart one another, decided to form two political blocs of the GAC members in the local government Area.

The formation of the two power blocs in the local government area was used to replace the political rivalry of Justice forum and The Mandate Group following the proscription of the groups in the state by the National Leader Of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

And on why the group is being called "Kandahar",  a party member who pleaded anonymity, disclosed to Kosofe Reporters that the name Kandahar was first used by one of the two GAC members before the Ward Cogresses were held last month.

According to him, One of the GAC members had boasted at his residence in the presence of some of his loyalists, few weeks to the Ward Congress, that he had already compiled and written all the names of his preferred ward executive committee with the indelible Kandahar Pen that no one could change.

But when the GCA member who had earlier boasted of his indelible ink was routed, outsmarted and outfoxed at the ward Congress, some party members started using the word "Kandahar" to describe the group of people  aligning themselves with the defeated GAC member.
