OKO COLE TRANSFORMER: SOFOLA DENIES ISSUING DIRECTIVE TO KOSOFE CDC CHAIRMAN, SEGUN BABATUNDE
Kosofe Local Government Area CDC Chairman, Mr. Segun Babatunde, had claimed in a statement he posted on social media on Saturday that the former council boss was the one that instructed him in 2019 to relocate the transformer after he was alleged to have illegally sold the transformer to Oko Cole Community in a petition written to the Nigeria Police Force Zone Il Onikan by a community leader, Mrs. Adebare
But a source very close to Hon. Sofola who do not want his name mentioned told Kosofe Reporters that contrary to the statement made by the CDC Chairman, the former council chairman did not order relocation of the controversial transformer to Oko Cole Community.
According to him, Hon. Sofola declared that he couldn't have given such directive to Mr. Babatunde when he was not the one that gave out the transformer in the first instance and that he couldn't also have done so without issuing out proper documents.
The source further revealed that the council chairman was very peeved by the action of the CDC Chairman and has challenged him to substantiate his claim that he ordered the relocation of the transformer by showing the documents he signed.
He also made it known that Hon. Sofola would honour the invition of the police whenever he is called upon and has equally urged Mr. Babatunde to go and answer his query.
Kosofe Reporters, however, learnt that no fewer than 19 people implicated in the illegal sale of the Adebare transformer have been ordered to come to zone II on Tuesday for questioning.
It is however yet unknown whether Hon. Afolabi Sofola is among the people invited for questioning.
