LASTMA SPECIAL TRAFFIC MAYOR COMMENCES SENSITISATION EXERCISE TO EASE TRAFFIC JAMS ON LAGOS ROADS.

Charge Commuters to obey traffic rules Calls for more volunteers   In its bid to rid Lagos state of perennial traffic gridlocks, a traffic control volunteer group known as LASTMA Special Traffic Mayor has commenced regular traffic control exercise to combat the menace and thereby ease traffic jams on Lagos roads. The traffic volunteer group which comprises respectable men and women from all walks of life rendering free humanitarian services, yesterday, converged at Iju road /Fagba axis of Ifako Ijaye Local Government Area - an axis well known for terrible traffic jams - to assist the personnel of LASTMA and Nigeria Police in easing traffic gridlock in the area. As early as 7 in the morning, the traffic Mayors had arrived at the junction of Iju road and Fagba street and could be seen directing traffic and advising motorists to stick to the right lanes. After a while, they were able to bring orderliness to the traffic situation

Kosofe LG Chair, Moyo Ogunlewe inspects Adebayo Mokuolu street rehabilitation, urges Contractors to expedite work.

As a follow-up to the reconstruction of 10 bad roads in Kosofe local government which began last year, the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe hàs inspected Adebayo Mokuolu street rehabilitation. Barrister Ogunlewe during the inspection, urged the contractors and the site Engineers handling the road project to intensify efforts in ensuring that the job is not only done on time, but perfectly executed.  He added that the road was very important to the residents of Anthony Village and as such must be constructed to high standard with good drainages on both sides. He enjoined the Head of Works and Infrastructure Mrs. Adesanya F. and Procurement Officer Mrs Balogun- Are N. to do a thorough supervision on the Road.

HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO KOSOFE LG

As part of its oversight functions, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, Public Petitions and LASIEC, yesterday, paid a working visit to Kosofe Local Government Council. The Committee which was led by its Chairman, Hon. Victor Olusegun Akande, was in the Council to assess the ongoing reconstruction of the Customary Court in the local government and also to ensure that no impediment stands on the way of administration of Justice at the local level. Speaking on behalf of other members, Hon. Akande applauded the Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe for a job well done in situating the customary court in a conducive, serene and clean environment. The Committee Chairman, representing Ojo Constituency, therefore, advised that the customary Court when completed should be properly used to boost the revenue base of the Council.  He also appealed to the Council's boss to make adequate provision for all importa
