MOYOSORE OGUNLEWE SWEARS IN NEW SLG, OTHER CABINET MEMBERS
The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, on Thursday, swore in the new Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Fatai Gbadebo and other cabinet members that will assist in piloting the affairs of the local government.
The swearing-in of the new executives of the local government took place at the council's secretariat at Ogudu road, Ojota following the screening of the political appointees yesterday by the legislative arm.
The executive members that took oaths of office are the former Chief of Staff and chairmanship aspirant, Prince Fatai Gbadebo; Mr. Taiwo Balogun, Mr. Lawal Adedayo Tajudeen, Mr. Odubamise Jonathan Odubowale, Mr. Adekunle Olorunfunmi, Mr. Abayomi Olugbindin Benjamin, Mr. Kehinde Saka, Mr. David Gbenga, Mr. Ganiyu Oyebanjo, Mr. Akinyemi Abiona, Mr. Omohkuda Alufohai and Mrs. Funmilayo Owolabi.
At the swearing-in ceremony, the council chairman in his address charged the newly appointed executives to serve with integrity, devotion, loyalty and accountability, explaining that their appointments followed a painstaking consideration of their experiences and ability to deliver the desired goal and objectives of his administration.
He noted that the duty and responsibility he is saddled with as the Council Boss are enormous and as such could only be executed successfully with the assistance of the executive members.
"The assignment of the office of Executive Chairman is heavy and can only be effectively executed by the Executive members who are taking the oath of office today.
"This enormous task is a collective responsibility, and l want you all to start immediately so that we can move the Council forward.
"As Executive members, your duties are very demanding. You are the ears, hands and eyes of the Council in addressing the important issues and challenges that face our Local Government.
"As you are all aware, we are now in April. We have before us, many urgent challenges arising from the committed pursuit of our legacy projects, as well as the inevitable pressure of the politics of the future. But we need not be derailed in our resolve to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Kosofe Local Government who stood by us.
"It is, therefore, necessary that we face all these challenges with the support and expertise at our disposal and that of loyal citizens, who also fully represent the aspirations and support of our citizens and major stakeholders’ throughout the 7 wards of our Local Government. These have partly informed our choices in selecting our new Executive Members being sworn in today.
"We have also been very intensive in selecting the list of men that we swear in today to ensure they meet our criteria of a gender-sensitive Administration, experience and notable ability to perform under pressure.
"I, therefore, expect that those we have selected to serve will give their best to the entire Local Government. In your various portfolios, we expect you to serve with integrity, devotion, loyalty and accountability.
"We expect that you will provide fresh ideas and a new drive to support our Government in consolidating our legacy projects, building a sustainable foundation of our projects, and moving the politics of Kosofe local government to the next level of humility, Justice and harmony as you serve our citizens": Ogunlewe said.
Earlier, the leader of the legislative arm, Mr. Idowu Oluloro in his welcome address congratulated the newly appointed executives on the appointments and for successfully scaling through the screening conducted by the legislative arm.
While Prince Fatai Gbadebo, the secretary to the local government thanked the Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe and the party leadership for the confidence reposed in them to pilot the affairs of the Local Government.
He assured that the new executives would work assiduously to realize the goal and objectives of the local government chairman.
Lot of dignitaries, including APC stalwarts, women leaders, party members, traditional and religious leaders in the Local Government Area were present at the event.
Notable among those who graced the inauguration ceremony includes the leader of the House, Hon. Idowu Oluloro, Councillors, Head of Administration, Mr. MBS Arole, CDC Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Babatunde, Hon. Lanre Carew, Hon. Bowale Benson, Party Secretary among others.
