The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, has assured the All Progressives Congress Kosofe LGA and Wards Executives of the commitment of his administration to the well-being and success of the party and its members.
Barrister Ogunlewe gave the assurance yesterday when he played host to the party's executive members at both LGA and Ward levels at the local government Secretariat.
The council Boss while thanking the party executives for the immense support given to his administration since his assumption of office, stated that the controversy over the party's executive lists was responsible for his inability to do something worthwhile for them.
He noted that now that the authenticity of the excos had been confirmed, his administration would do everything possible within the ambit of his power to give them the necessary support to excel and also make provision for their welfare.
Barrister Ogunlewe, however, bemoaned the low number of votes being recorded at the polls in recent years in the local government, describing the development as sad and unacceptable considering the fact that Kosofe Local Government has over 400000 registered voters.
While attributing the failure of the local government to get a fair share of political appointments at the state level to the sad development, he noted that his administration had been making frantic efforts to change the ugly narrative by embarking on massive construction of infrastructural projects to make it easy for party members to have something to campaign with.
He also disclosed that his administration had made provision for 4 generator sets, 4 printers and laptops to INEC to ensure smooth operation of PVC revalidation and registration exercise in the local government area.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Kosofe LGA APC secretary, Otunba Bowale Benson commended the local government chairman for the great achievements he had recorded since assuming office 7 months ago and for taking a keen interest in the welfare of the party.
He appealed to the party's executives to give him the necessary support.
While the LGA Party Chairman Alhaji Kehinde Bello thanked Barrister Ogunlewe for coming to the aid of the party to pay for its rented office.
Speaking further, Alhaji Bello appealed to APC members who had issues with their PVC to revalidate them, stressing that doing so would further boost the chances of the party in the 2023 general elections.
In a similar vein the Secretary To Local Government, Prince Fatai Gbadebo, urged the party's executives to mobilize people for the ongoing voters' Card registration exercise as well as on the days of elections.
He averred that this would put the local government in good stead for political appointments at the state level.
