KOSOFE APC WARD MEETINGS TAKE OFF ON A FLYING NOTE, MASSIVE TURNOUTS RECORDED IN ALL THE VENUES

With few days to the All Progressives Congress primary elections, political activities in Kosofe Local Government Area have finally been brought back to life with the commencement of APC Ward Meetings across the local government on Friday.

Ward meetings which had hitherto been in comatose since the inauguration of the ward executives in September 2021 took off on an impressive note in all the wards except in Ward C which is Anthony/Mende where meeting couldn't take place due to force majeure.

Reports from the venues where Ward meetings took place showed that turnouts were massive as party faithful who have long been denied meaningful political interactions thronged the venue of the meetings in their hundreds.

At Oworonshoki Primary School where Ward A meeting was held, the turnout was reported to be very impressive with about 300 members in attendance.

While the meeting was presided over by the Ward Chairperson Alhaja Abiola Davies. Besides, virtually all the Ward Executives and prominent leaders were said to be present at the meeting.

Similarly, at Ward B which is Ifako/Soluyi/Gbagada/Araromi area of Kosofe Local Government Area, the turnout was highly impressive with about 250 party members in attendance.

The ward meeting was held at Araromi Primary school Gbagada and was presided over by Mr. Kazeem Opeodu with 20 ward executive members out of 27 in attendance.

The ward meeting was graced by an APC Chieftain Alhaji Musiliu Aigoro and other notable leaders and elders in the ward.

While in Ward D which is Ojota/Ogudu the turnout was also reported to be massive with about 250 party members in attendance.

The Ward meeting was held at Emmanuel Primary School and was presided over by Mr. Abiodun Azeez Owoyele  with all the Ward Executives members in attendance.

The meeting was also graced by the Secretary to the Local Government Prince Fatai Gbadebo and some prominent political figures in the ward.

However, It is pertinent to note that the Ward Meetings were held based on the 20 Local Government format and it is expected that turnout at the next meetings will even be higher.

The commencement of the Ward meetings across the local government area has now laid to rest the controversy over the authenticity of the Ward Executives sworn in last year September.

Report has been rife in recent time of mischievous move by a group of party leaders in the local government to alter the lists of the Ward Executives after realizing that the indirect primary format would be used to conduct the party's primary elections.

But their efforts have reported met a solid brick-wall as they have been told by the state party chairman following a directive from the national secretariat of the party, Abuja that such a move is practically impossible.
