BREAKING: Oyetola floors Adeleke as Tribunal delivers Judgment on Osun governorship election

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has been declared as the winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election by the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo. The judgment was delivered today at the premises of the High Court in Osogbo. Reading the majority judgement, Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Tertsea Kume said the election was marred by over-voting. He thereby deducted the number of over-voting presented by Oyetola and APC. He says having deducted the over-voting figure, Oyetola scored 314,921 while Ademola gathered 290,266. According to the tribunal the ground of the petition before it are three. They are that Adeleke was not qualified to contest based on his academic qualifications. Others are the Adeleke was not elected by majority of the electorates and that the election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission was not in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act. The Kosofe Local Government's CDC/CDA on Thursday 19 January, 2023 joined the rest of the communities in Lagos State to celebrate this year's Community Day. The Community Day celebration which is an annual event was held at Police College Ikeja with hundreds of community leaders taking part in the event. The Kosofe Local Government Contingent was led by the Supervisor for agricultural and social services, Hon. Saka Kehinde and HOD Agriculture and Social Services Mrs. Adebobuyi Olabisi. The event was graced by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and some functionaries of the State Government.

~Projected Expenditure To Gulp N4.193b The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe on Thursday presented a budget of N3, 828, 702, 174.63 (Three billion, eight hundred and twenty eight million, seven hundred and two thousand, one hundred and seventy four naira, sixty three Kobo) to the legislative arm of the local government for the fiscal year 2023. The budget which was tagged "budget of infrastructure development" is based on projected revenue from Internally Generated Revenue(IGR), Statutory allocation from federation Account, State Coordinated Account, VAT and grants. The budget presented also shows a projected expenditure of N4, 193, 930, 056.9 (Four billion one hundred and ninety three million nine hundred and thirty thousand and fifty six naira nine kobo) bringing the budget to a deficit of N365, 227,882.95. A prominent figure in Oworonshoki community, Chief Akinola Ogunduyilemi, who made official complaints to the police on the fraudulent disposal of a vehicle belonging to Oworonshoki Community by Mr. Segun Babatunde, the SSA on community affairs to the executive chairman of Kosofe Local Government and some members of Oworonshoki Joint CDA has been violently assaulted by some members of the Joint CDA. The violent assault on Chief Ogunduyilemi popularly known as Baba Chevron took place on Thursday, a day after the alleged group of people were temporarily left off the hook of prosecution by the zone 2 Police Command Headquarters Onikan following an undertaking to replace the stolen vehicle signed by a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Kosofe Constituency 1 Hon. Moyo Ogunlewe Inspects Area Offices, Health Centers

The Executive Chairman, Kosofe Local Government, Hon. (Barr.) Moyosore Ogunlewe, on Tuesday, made an unscheduled inspection of Area offices and Primary health centres of kosofe local government. Ogunlewe disclosed that the inspection was to encourage staff of the various offices, units, and to also access situation of things by himself, interact with the staff, and proffer solutions to identified problems. The council boss had already made provision for the distribution of workstations for workers, purchased four Utility Revenue Buses for the area offices and an Ambulance for every Health Care Emergency in Kosofe Local Government, just as he promised to do more to ensure a conducive working environment and productivity. A Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja has issued an order of interim injunction restraining Kosofe Local Government; Ikosi/Isheri Local Council Development Area; Dr. Chris Onyekachi; Total Value Integrated Services Limited; Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State; and Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development from entering or forcefully taking over the land known as Alaba Section of Mile 12 Market, Kosofe Lagos, pending the determination of a Motion on Notice already before it.
