OWORO COMMUNITY LEADER, BABA CHEVRON, ASSAULTED FOR REPORTING OWORONSHOKI VEHICLEGATE SCANDAL TO POLICE

A prominent figure in Oworonshoki community, Chief Akinola Ogunduyilemi, who made official complaints to the police on the fraudulent disposal of a vehicle belonging to Oworonshoki Community by Mr. Segun Babatunde, the SSA on community affairs to the executive chairman of Kosofe Local Government and some members of Oworonshoki Joint CDA has been violently assaulted by some members of the Joint CDA.

The violent assault on Chief Ogunduyilemi popularly known as Baba Chevron took place on Thursday, a day after the alleged group of people were temporarily left off the hook of prosecution by the zone 2 Police Command Headquarters Onikan following an undertaking to replace the stolen vehicle signed by a member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Kosofe Constituency 1 Hon. Sanni Okanlawon.

Chief Ogunduyilemi told our correspondent that he was ambushed on the street of Oworo by Deacon Solaja, Samuel Oruetsajo, Mr. Tomiwa and others whom he could not remember their names.

He disclosed further that one of his assailants, Deacon Solaja, took a bottle and threatened to break his head for having the audacity to report the matter to the police.

He said as a result of the attack he had been seriously ill and had gone for medical treatment at a hospital.

"I was attacked on Thursday by six members of Oworonshoki Joint CDA who claimed to be fighting for their leaders Mr. Segun Babatunde and Pastor Allen.

" They were probably coming from a meeting they had held somewhere when they spotted me while walking along the street. 

"And before I could say anything, I had been surrounded and physically assaulted. And one of them Deacon Solaja took a bottle and threatened to break it on my head for reporting the matter which they said should have been swept under the carpet to the police.

"Those that attacked me were Deacon Solaja, Samuel Oruetsajo, Chairman Tomiwa and others who I could not readily remember their names": Baba Chevron narrated.

Baba Chevron stated that he had not informed the Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom Oba Babatunde Saliu of the incident, but he had, however, informed Asiwaju of Oworonshoki Kingdom, Alhaji Tajudeen Ashiru and would soon file complaints at zone 2 Police Command Headquarters Onikan.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses.
