CONSTRUCTION WORK BEGINS ON N2.1b ISHERI NORTH ROAD FACILITATED BY REP ROTIMI AGUNSOYE

*Road To Serve as Alternative Route to Agric Ikorodu and Lagos-Ibadan/ Sagamu Road
Construction work has commenced on the alternative route that will connect Isheri North to Agric/Isawo in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state as well as Lagos- Ibadan/Shagamu road.

The construction of the road is facilitated by the Lawmaker representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye and is in four phases with the first phase commencing with the construction of 3.5km Isheri North road.
The road otherwise known as Channels Television road begins from OPIC gate, cuts through the border communities of Lagos and Ogun state and then terminates at Isheri North GRA Lagos.
The contractor handling the project M/S Acute Options LTD has already arrived at the project site and has started scrapping the road surface in preparation for the laying of asphalt.

The construction of the alternative route which is being supervised by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) will gulp N2.1b and will take 90 days to be completed.
According to the Chairman of Isheri Estates Community ( ISECOM) Hon. Gbenga Osobu, the drainage system will as well be reconstructed while the road will be illuminated with the installation of powerful solar street lights.

Hon. Osobu while praising Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye for influencing the construction of the road noted that when it is eventually completed would serve as an alternative arterial route to Agric in Ikorodu and would considerably decongest notorious traffic jam associated with Ikorodu road.
He further noted that the road would also obviate the necessity of commuters in Ikorodu going to and fro Ikeja of having to drive through Ikorodu road to reach their destinations.

"It was two road projects that were given to the Southwest by FERMA. One is in Ikenna and the other is in Lagos. This serves the two states.
"The road will eventually link Agric Ikorodu to Ogun state when completed and will also remove the bottlenecks that people encounter in getting to Ojota.

"The road is 3.5km and comes with a drainage system and installation of powerful solar street lights".

With about three months to the end of Rep Rotimi Agunsoye's tenure as a Member House of Representatives, the facilitation of Isheri North road will serve as icing on the cake of his legacy projects in Kosofe Federal Constituency.

The distinguished lawmaker it would be recalled had facilitated the constructions of five ICT centres, blocks of classrooms, 90 beds Hospital in Ojota, a Police Post at Isheri and also played a major role in influencing the construction of roads in Soluyi.

He also facilitated the sinking of 23 Solar Powered Borehole water systems and 10 transformers across the Constituency, among several empowerment and skill acquisition programmes.
