OLOWORO PROVIDES FREE EYE TESTS, GLASSES TO OWOROSHOKI COMMUNITY INHABITANTS

In his efforts at eradicating the problem of eye disease among the inhabitants of Oworoshoki community, the Paramount traditional ruler of the Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Saliu, on Tuesday, provided free medical eye screening and eyeglasses to some members of the community.

The free eye screening exercise which took place at the palace of the Oloworo saw hundreds of people in the community including the vulnerable benefiting from the programme.
The wife of the Oloworo, Olori Bukola Saliu who oversaw the free eye screening exercise, in a chat with newsmen, stated that the programme was necessitated by the complaint of a member of the community suffering from glaucoma who had approached the Oloworo for urgent financial assistance to treat his eye disease.
She explained that the king on seeing the terrible state of the man's eyes wondered why it took him so long to seek help to treat it.

She added that the King sensing that there may be other people in the community facing similar challenges, decided to enlist the service of opticians to provide free eye screening and eyeglasses to those who may need it.
Olori Bukola Saliu who expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of members of the community to the programme praised the King for his sensitivity and kindness.
She noted that the exercise would considerably reduce the number of people in the community having eye problems.

Some beneficiaries of the free eye screening exercise who spoke with our correspondent lauded Kabiyesi Oloworo for the good gestures and the high quality of eye screening and glasses provided.
