KOSOFE CHAIRMAN'S CUP ENDS IN HIGH NOTE, AS OJOTA WINS MAIDEN EDITION

The maiden edition of the Kosofe Local Government Chairman's Cup came to a scintillating end on Sunday with Ward F. Ojota emerging the winners at the final of the grassroots football competition held at Emmanuel Primary School, Ojota. 

The football competition, which was aimed at promoting grassroots football and discovering young talents, saw seven teams from the seven wards in Kosofe Local Government area slugging it out for the top prize.

The final match was a keenly contested encounter between Ward F Ojota and Ward B Oworo. Both teams displayed great skill and determination, entertaining the spectators with their impressive performances.

At the end of the pulsating encounter Ward F, Ojota emerged the winners by defeating Oworo Ward B by  2-1. And were presented with the Chairman's Cup trophy and a cash prize of One Million Naira (N1,000,000).
While the second-placed team Ward B, Oworo and the third place, Ward A were presented with cash prizes of Five Hundred Thousand naira (N500,000) and Two Hundred And Fifty Thousand Naira (N250,000) respectively.

The first edition of the Chairman's Cup was a resounding success, showcasing the abundance of football talent in Kosofe Local Government. With the commitment and support of Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, it is expected that the football competition will become an annual event and continue to promote sports development in the community.

In his address at the final match, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe expressed his delight at the success of the competition and thanked all the teams, players, and supporters for their participation and dedication. He reiterated his commitment to the development of sports in Kosofe and promised to continue supporting initiatives that promote youth involvement in sports.

The final of the tournament was witnessed by dignitaries, community leaders, traditional rulers, residents of various communities, past and present political office holders, sports lovers, leaders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Prominent among them are Member House of Representatives, Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, Member representing Kosofe Constituency 1,  Hon. Sanni Okanlawon; Member representing Mushin Constituency 1, Hon. Ayinde Nureni Akinsanya (OSMAK); Hon. Olajumoke Animawun, Assistant Secretary Lagos APC chapter; Party Chairman, Kosofe LGA, Alhaji Kehinde Bello and the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Fatai Gbadebo.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses. This will be the third time the ruling party will be presenting timetable for its crucial primary elections after its National Convention of March 26, 2022.   The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently warned political parties to ensure they meet its own deadline for primary election. * Warned To Stop Addressing Himself As Honourable Kosofe Local Government Area CDC chairman Mr. Segun Babatunde has reportedly been arrested by the men of Nigeria Police Force, Zone Il Onikan Lagos, for allegedly relocating a transformer belonging to a community in Oworoshoki in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State fraudulently.
