Benson Bowale Adepoju fondly known as "Aworo", says his long years in party structure and grassroots politics have prepared him to deliver effective representation if elected as a member of the Lagos House of Assembly, Kosofe Constituency 1. Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has declared that all elective positions in the forthcoming primaries are open to contest, insisting there will be no imposition of candidates. The Lagos State Police Command has directed the immediate and complete withdrawal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) from traffic control and enforcement of traffic offences across the state. Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, gave the directive as part of efforts to streamline traffic management operations and ensure professionalism, accountability and clarity in the discharge of duties. According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the unit’s withdrawal is limited to traffic-related responsibilities, while all other assigned duties and operational mandates remain fully in force. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a self-acclaimed traditional ruler, Engr. Chibuike Azubike, who paraded himself as the "Obi of Lagos," along with three accomplices. The arrests were made on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. According to the police, Azubike, 65, from Obodoukwu Ancient Kingdom in Imo State, was arrested alongside Chief Chibuzor Ani, 57; Chief Martins Nwaodika, 65; and Mr. Ikechukwu Franklin Nnadi, 41. The suspects are currently in custody at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja. The police had received intelligence that the group planned to unveil a prototype of a purported ₦1.5 billion "Palace of Obi of Lagos State" on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Apple Hall, Amuwo Odofin. Oworonshoki residents took to the streets today to protest the demolition of buildings in their community, blocking a section of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.  The protesters, who were displaced by the demolition, expressed their grievances with placards that read "Stop demolishing our houses" and "Give us back our lands and houses". The demolition, which was carried out by the Lagos State Government, affected several buildings in the Oworonshoki area, leaving many residents without homes. The government had cited concerns over the safety and environmental impact of the buildings as the reason for the demolition. The protest caused heavy traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge, with many motorists and passengers stranded. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, and other officers were deployed to the scene to maintain order. .

Contrary to widespread reports that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had ordered the suspension of the demolition of buildings in Ojulari community, Oworonshoki for two weeks, the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has continued the demolition exercise of the area, leaving many residents homeless. The suspension order, which was reportedly issued following the intervention of Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, the lawmaker representing Kosofe constituency 1, appears to have been a hoax. In a bid to uplift the socio-economic well-being of his constituents, the immediate past member of the House of Representatives, Kosofe federal constituency, Hon. (Prince) Rotimi Agunsoye, mni, has empowered 100 youths and women with various starter packs on local delicacies and cash donations. The empowerment programme, which followed a week-long training in local delicacies, culminated in the presentation of empowerment materials to the beneficiaries at the constituency office of the former lawmaker at Kujore Street, Ojota on Friday. Each beneficiary received a generous package consisting of ₦100,000 cheque, a 16kg bag of beans, 16kg bag of rice, 8kg bag of garri, a 6kg gas cylinder, a tuber of yam, 750ml of groundnut oil, and cooking utensils.
