The secretary of Team Kosofe Alhaji. Ashafa Hakeem Osinjiri has called on both Muslim brothers and sisters in Kosofe Local Government Area to continue to appreciate the Almighty Creator for his mercy and protection over their lives as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir amidst coronavirus pandemic.
Alhaji Oshijinrin in a chat with KosofeReporters emphasized that Eid-el-Kabir was meant to appreciate and glorify God, stating that if not for the mercy and the love of God we would have been using our first born as sacrifice to Almighty God.

He said however in lieu of the first child, God gave a ram to Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice to him. He said consequently we must continue to apprecite God even in the throes of Covid-19 pandemic.

And while wishing all the residents of the area happy Eid-el-Kabir, he noted that this year's celebration has been a very difficult one for many people as a result of the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic globally.

He therefore advised residents of Kosofe Local Government Area to keep safe at all time by adhering strictly to all directives and protocols of Covid-19 prevention as they continue to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir festival.

He however expressed sadness over the dull complexion of this year's sallah festival, stating that the death of Late Sen. Bayo Osinowo had taken away the glamour and excitement associated with it as many people could not afford to buy Sallah ram.

He averred that if Sen. Adebayo Osinowo had been alive lot of people would be celebrating with great joy and excitement as he would dole out ram, food and money freely.

He revealed that the late Senator used to give Team Kosofe 14 ram and two million Naira cash every year to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, lamenting that his death was a big loss to them and entire people of Kosofe Local Government Area. And declared that no one can fill the space Sen. Osinowo left behind.

He said: "I am very sad about the complexion of this year's festival. If Sen. Bayo Osinowo is alive I know wonderful things would have happened. But due to his absence many people are celebrating at low key.

"Some could not even afford to by Sallah ram. When he was alive Sen. Bayo Osinowo would give us 2 million Naira cash and 14 ram to celebrate Sallah festival. We feel his absence and nobody can feel his space".
