*SAY 2021 BUDGET WILL NOT BE PASSED

*CALL FOR THOROUGH INVESTIGATION

Report coming from Ikosi- isheri LCDA has it that the council’s lawmakers are set for a showdown with the council’s chairperson, Princess Samiat Bolanle Bada over year 2020 budget implementation and some other political and administrative issues and may not approve year 2021 budget unless thorough investigation is carried out on how last year budget of the LCDA was implemented.

Kosofe Reporters reliably gathered that the lawmakers of the council led by the Leader of the House Hon. Usman Ajibola are enraged over the way and manner the LCDA chairperson has been running the affairs of the council since her assumption of office last year and have therefore resolved not to approve 2021 budget.

The lawmakers it was learnt alleged poor leadership quality, bad governance, misappropriation of fund, lack of transparency and contract inflation of executed projects by the Chairperson, Princess Bada as reasons for their proposed action and have vowed to pursue the matter to its logical end.

But a source who didn’t want his name to be mentioned for political reason told Kosofe Reporters yesterday that frantic effort has been made to douse the growing tension between the chairperson and the lawmakers before the commencement of the budget defence this week with the council’s Head of Administration Chief Sunday Olujobi appealing to the aggrieved lawmakers to sheath their swords.

Our source disclosed further that Chief Olujobi held a closed door meeting with three principal officers of the LCDA legislative arm, the clerk of the house and another lawmaker yesterday. They are Hon. Usman Ajibola, the leader of the house; Hon. Yunusa Salami, House Majority leader and Hon. Mohammed Moroof Adeneye, House Chief Whip; Funmi Olatayo, Clerk of the house and Hon. Biliaminu Taliat, member of the house.

According to our source the Head of Administration profusely begged the embattled lawmakers, promising that Princess Bada would turn a new leaf.

However, in spite of the effort of the Head of Administration to resolve the crisis, our source strongly believed the lawmakers would not back down from their plan except something dramatic happens that would make them to have a change of heart.

And their next step would also solidly depend on the outcome of discussion with three other members of the house who were unavoidably absent at the closed door meeting with the Head of Administration.

The other lawmakers are the Deputy Leader of the House, Hon. Folasade Akinpelu; Hon. Abiodun Adebola and Hon. Olarewaju Taiwo.
