Lagos Lawmaker, Sanni Okanlawon, Makes Case For Free And Fair Direct Local Government Primary Elections

 



*Urges Political Leaders To Eschew Imposition of Candidates

 

*Enjoins Constituents To Sustain assimilation of Islamic Tenets.

 

 

As All progressives congress Local Government primary elections in Kosofe Local Government Area and other Local councils in Lagos state draws near, the lawmaker representing Kosofe Constituency 1 in Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon has urged the leadership of the party in the area to allow aspirants to test their popularity in free and fair primary elections devoid of imposition.

 

Hon. Sanni Okanlawon made the statement in his special Eid-el-Fitr message to his constituents on Thursday at his residence.

 

Hon. Okanlawon noted that allowing the chairmanship and councillorship aspirants to go to the field and put their popularity to the test in accordance to the tenet of democracy would go a long way in forestalling election violence or mayhem.

 

He stressed that the leadership of the party in the area should pay heed to the tenet of democracy as practiced in the saner clime in order to enthrone a legitimate government.

 

And in his special Eid-el- Fitr message to the constituents, he enjoined them to sustain assimilation of tenets of Islam imbibed during the month of Ramadan by intensifying efforts on supplications, piety, love for their fellow human beings, Kindness and reading of the Holy Quran.

 

While wishing the people of Kosofe constituency 1 happy Eid-el-Fitr, Hon Sanni Okanlawon also prayed for the eternal repose of the departed political leaders in the constituency such as Late Senator Adebayo Osinowo, Alhaja Mosunmola Sofola, Alhaji Ekelojumati, Alhaji Musibau Adeigbe, chief Olu Arije and the rest.
