Ogunlewe Presents N2.9b Budget To Kosofe Legislative Council

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe local government, Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, yesterday, presented a budget of N2,999,470,814.42(Two Billion Nine Hundred And Ninety Nine Million, Four Hundred And Seventy Thousand, Eight Hundred And Fourteen Naira, Forty Two Kobo) to the council's legislative assembly.


The year 2022 Budget proposal is tagged Budget of All Inclusiveness.

In his keynote address, Ogunlewe expressed gratitude to all the good people of Kosofe and the entire staff of the Council for their support and solidarity within the short period he had been on the saddle, adding that his Administration was committed more than ever to improving the living standard of the People of Kosofe through implementation of result oriented policies.
He explained that the year 2022 budget was dubbed ' budget of all inclusiveness' because his Administration was determined to execute projects and programmes that would have meaningful impacts on the lives of the people, explaining further that essential facilities, infrastructures and conducive environment would be part of what would enjoy high priority in the implementation of the budget.
He explained that his Administration which came on board barely six months ago has been able to record modest achievements with the purchase of 4 revenue buses for Area offices, despatch motorbikes, Construction of 10 local government roads, purchasing of Ambulances, buses for NULGE and Market women among other numerous projects.
In his overview of the year 2022 budget, he said the financial estimate was prepared meticulously taking into cognizance people aspirations and needs, he said eradication of poverty and wealth creation are the vital aspects when the budget was being prepared.

The breakdown of the budget showed that internal generated Revenue (IGR) gulps N107, 950,000. State Coordinated IGR takes N39,000,000. Statutory allocation from Federation Account amounts to N895, 664,277,.16; Valu Added Tax (VAT) accouns for N1,786,800,309.19 while other grants (State) is N170,056,228.07

Speaking on the budget, the leader of the house, Hon. Idowu Oluloro lauded the Chairman for the all inclusive budget Presentation and said all the expectations and demands of the people at the grassroot would be implemented to the letter.

Speaking in similar vein, Hon. Lekan Adebare, the chairman on Revenue and Budget said the legislators would give full support to the budget in order to ensure its speedy implementation. 


While Kosofe Local Government Area CDC Chairman, Mr Segun Babatunde, thanked the Chairman for presenting the budget of all inclusiveness which he said was the first of its kind in Kosofe, promising as Community leader in ensuring its full implementation and mobilisation of people to pay their taxes and other revenues accrued to the Council.

The event was attended by the Management team headed by the Head of Administration, MBS Arole, Kosofe APC LGA chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Bello; CDC Chairman, Hon. Segun Babatunde; APC party stakeholders and leaders.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses. * Warned To Stop Addressing Himself As Honourable Kosofe Local Government Area CDC chairman Mr. Segun Babatunde has reportedly been arrested by the men of Nigeria Police Force, Zone Il Onikan Lagos, for allegedly relocating a transformer belonging to a community in Oworoshoki in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State fraudulently.
