LANRE CAREW TO PRIORITIZE YOUTH, WOMEN CAPACITY BUILDING; POVERTY ALLEVIATION

As the All Progressives Congress (APC)  primary election draws near, Kosofe Constituency 1 Lagos State House of Assembly Aspirant, Hon. has promised to provide people of the Constituency quality representation as well as prioritise their welfare and Human capacity development if eventually elected into office.

Hon. Lanre Carew made the statement in a chat with Kosofe Reporters on Monday.

He noted that people are the most important element in a state and as such their welfare and Human capacity development must be given the topmost priority by the government or its representatives.

He added that when these are put in proper perspective all other things would fall into the right places, and then the security and economy of the country would be the best for it.

He averred that apart from his determination at providing quality representation to the people of Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos Assembly by ensuring they get a fair share of infrastructural projects in the scheme of things, he would also use his connection and capacity to empower youth and women considerably and alleviate poverty by engaging them in productive schemes.

The Farm City owner said, "although the core responsibilities of legislators are to make laws, perform oversight functions and pass the budget, in this part of the world we all know that a lawmaker must perform some quasi-executive functions.

"This will not be difficult for us to do. We will use our connection and position to engage our teeming youth and women in meaningful productive engagement as well as look after their well-being.

" You will agree with me that people are the most important element in a state. Without people, there is no state and without a state, there can be no government. This is why we will have to concentrate all our energy on ensuring that our people and constituency get a good share of the dividends of democracy in the scheme of things in Lagos State.

" We are determined to redefine representation, add great value and bring positive transformation to bear on our Constituency".

It would be recalled that Hon. Lanre Carew in 2019 aspired for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Kosofe Constituency 1 but had to succumb to the party's decision and supremacy.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses. This will be the third time the ruling party will be presenting timetable for its crucial primary elections after its National Convention of March 26, 2022.   The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently warned political parties to ensure they meet its own deadline for primary election. * Warned To Stop Addressing Himself As Honourable Kosofe Local Government Area CDC chairman Mr. Segun Babatunde has reportedly been arrested by the men of Nigeria Police Force, Zone Il Onikan Lagos, for allegedly relocating a transformer belonging to a community in Oworoshoki in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State fraudulently.
