KOSOFE APC MEMBERS FOIL ATTEMPT BY GAC MEMBERS TO SET UP PARALLEL PARTY ORGANS.

* PARTY MEMBERS ACCUSE GAC MEMBERS OF SECRETLY WORKING AGAINST ASIWAJU

An attempt by members of the Governor's Advisory Council (GAC) to inaugurate parallel organs of the All Progressives Congress in Kosofe Local Government Area was on Thursday morning foiled by some concerned members of the party.

The inauguration of a parallel LGA APC Executives and Ward Chairmen under the guise of an LGA meeting had been scheduled to hold at the Constituency office of the former member of the House of Representatives Hon. Dayo Alebiosu at Anthony Village.

But no sooner had the parallel LGA meeting started than some concerned members of APC in the local government stormed the venue of the meeting and chased everybody away.

A similar occurrence had happened about two months ago when the same group of people attempting to inaugurate parallel party organs at the party's secretariat Ogudu were mercilessly dealt with by unknown hoodlums.

An investigation by Kosofe Reporters, however, showed that one Alhaji Fatai who purports to be LGA secretary is the LGA assistant youth leader in the APC LGA list base on 20 Local Governments.

It was also discovered that the ward chairmen of Ward C ifako/ Soluyi Mr. Kazeem Opeodu and Ward F Ojota Mr. Azeez who were originally among the ward chairmen sworn in at ACME in September last by the former state chairman of the party Hon. Tunde Balogun were not among the ward chairmen invited to the meeting.

It was further learnt that the reason for their non-invitation was due to the fact that the GAC members had already replaced them in their lists of ward chairmen based on 57 LGA.

The recent action of the GAC members however went contrary to the resolution reached by the party leadership that in forming APC LGA and Ward Executives based on 57 LGA, executive members who were in the lists base on 20 LGA should be made to retain their original posts.

And what make the Thursday meeting even more unacceptable was that it was not held at the approved venue for the LGA meeting by the party leadership.

This is contrary to the stipulation of Article 27 (1) of the party constitution that:" the venue for all meetings of the organs of the Party at all levels shall be and approved by the leadership of the party or the organ."

The approved centre for the LGA executive meeting by the party leadership is the party secretariat along Ogudu road Ojota.

The Chairman of the Local Government Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe had just spent millions of naira to refurbish the entire rented party secretariat.

The action of GAC members had been condemned by some APC members in Kosofe Local Government on various social media platforms as inimical to the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

It is even believed in some quarters that they may be working secretly for the opposition presidential candidates going by their unconcerned attitude towards party's cohesion and unity.
