Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye Again Facilitates 200 Solar-Powered Street Lights on CMD Road Less Than 2 Months After leaving office

The immediate past House of Representatives member representing Kosofe Federal Constituency, Hon. (Prince) Rotimi Agunsoye has again proved his commitment to the infrastructure development of Kosofe Federal Constituency with the facilitated installation of 200 solar-powered street lights along CMD Road, Lagos.

The facilitation of the 200 solar-powered street lights by Hon. Agunsoye came less than two months after the end of his tenure as a member of the 8th and 9th House of Representatives.

The installation of the street lights, which is designed to enhance security and improve road visibility at night along the road, begins from toll gate to the end of Otedola bridge, and adds to the number of legacy projects Hon. Agunsoye has influenced for the federal Constituency.

The CMD Road is a vital arterial route and byway connecting residential areas such as Magodo Phase 1&2, Shangisha, Ikosi, and Isheri to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway from toll gate.

However, the lack of street lighting for years had made visibility for both motorists and commuters difficult at night, making it a hotspot for criminal activities.

Recognizing the urgent need for streetlights to ensure the safety and security of residents, Agunsoye took it upon himself to address the issue.

The project, which is being executed in collaboration with the relevant government agencies, involved the installation of 200 state-of-the-art solar-powered street lights along the 1-kilometer stretch of the CMD Road.

The solar panels mounted on these lights harness the energy from the sun during the day, which is stored and used to power the lights at night, making them both environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
