ROT Babes Provide Cash Palliatives to 50 Widows in Kosofe Federal Constituency
In a heartwarming gesture of compassion and support, the ROT Babes of Kosofe Federal Constituency on Friday provided cash palliatives to 50 widows of the Constituency.
The event which took place at 21 Aroyewun Street Alapere, Ketu, Lagos, was attended by prominent members of the All Progressives Congress across the constituency such as Ikosi-Isheri LCDA APC Chieftain Elder Segun Adeyanju; Former SLG Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Gbenga Osobu, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA APC Chairman, Otunba Seyi Odufowokan; Prince Odunayo Agunsoye, Alhaji Isa Bajo, Hon. Wunmi Okewunmi and Former SLA to the former Speaker House of Representatives, Olusegun Apena, among others.
According to the President of the organization, Alhaja Rukayat Olashile Ahmed, the purpose of the event was to extend a hand of support to widows who are finding it extremely difficult to cope with the prevailing economic hardship in the country.
She noted that the charitable gesture was inspired by the remarkable deeds and impactful representation of the immediate past member House of Representatives, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye whom she noted served Kosofe Federal Constituency meritoriously and seflessly.
While lauding the former lawmaker and other individuals that supported the organization in cash and kind, she made a passionate appeal to the beneficiaries of the Cash Palliatives to appreciate the modest amount being given.
An APC Chieftain in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA Chief Segun Adeyanju in his address, lauded the ROT Babes for the initiative and for following the footsteps of the symbol of the group, Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye whom he noted changed the face of representation in Kosofe Federal Constituency with manifold impactful empowerment programmes and visible legacy.
While praising the ladies for uplifting the lives of vulnerable women in the community, he pledged his support for their future activities.
In similar vein, the erstwhile Secretary to the Local Government Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Gbenga Osuba, lauded the ROT Babes for the initiative and other impactful projects they had undertaken, describing their actions as a true reflection of good mentorship by Hon. Prince Rotimi Agunsoye..
He, therefore, charged other wings of the group to take a cue from their actions and contribute towards the development of the constituency.
During the event, each of the 50 widows was presented with a modest sum of money as a cash palliatives to alleviate their financial burden.
