Kosofe LG SSAs Hold Maiden Retreat, Present Year 2024 Actionable Plan To Council Chairman

It was an epoch-making day on Thursday at the Pholax Hotel, Anthony when political leaders and key stakeholders from Kosofe local government converged for a first-of-its-kind one-day retreat organized by the Senior Special Assistants to Kosofe Local Government Chairman.
The retreat, aimed at providing the Senior Special Assistants with workable plans for the delivery of purposeful and impactful governance towards the year 2024, had the theme "Impact 2024: Unifying the Purpose."
Furthermore, the retreat was designed to avail the SSAs a veritable platform to present dialogue, collaborate, and exchange ideas that would foster a unified vision to accelerate positive impact between the Local Government and other tiers of government in line with the visions of the Executive Chairman.

The retreat began with a lecture delivered by Mr. Ayo Muritala, the Managing Partner of KNEWROW Consults, with the theme: "Designing Agile Performance and Management System: Driving Performance and Value".
Mr. Ayo Murtala while stressing that what cannot be measured cannot be managed and what can not be managed cannot be improved, advised the SSAs to shore up their capabilities to effectively carry out their assigned responsibilities.

He further enjoined the SSAs to come up with a strategic plan for their local government winning approach.
 
Excitement, however, filled the air with the arrival of guests and key stakeholders. Among those in attendance were Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government; Secretary to Local Government, Prince Fatai Gbadebo; APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Kehinde Bello; the former SA to the former Speaker House of Representatives, Prince Ibrahim Oladega; the Leader of the House, Idowu Oluloro and the representatives of Senator Mikhail Abiru, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara and Hon. Sanni Okanlawon.
The welcome address was delivered by Hon. Funsho Oduntan, the SSA to the Chairman Kosofe Local Government and the chairman Retreat planning committee. 

Hon. Oduntan expressed his gratitude to all the political leaders and the SSAs for spearheading the event and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in achieving their shared goals for the local government.

With the audience engaged, the moment arrived for the highly anticipated keynote address by Hon. Sanni Okanlawon, a member representing Kosofe Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Represented by a councillor and supervisor in Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Mustapha, Hon. Okanlawon advocated for a stronger tie between local government and other tiers of government which he termed inter-governmental co-operation, adding that local government was the closest to the people and must adequately be equipped to perform optimally.
In a similar vein, Senator Mikail Adetokunbo Abiru represented by his Legislative Aide, Mrs. Comfort Olafare, in his goodwill message advised the SSAs to project the image of their principal positively.

The Executive Chairman Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe in his address, praised his SSAs for their ingenuity in putting together a wonderful retreat. 

While commending his Chief of Staff for effectively managing the Team of SSAs, He recounted how he assembled the array of 40 SSAs by using his discretion and on the recommendations of Party leaders.  

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of special awards to Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe, Senator Mikhail Abiru, Hon. Kafilat Ogbara, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Okanlawon, Late Senator Bayo Osinowo, Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu, Dr. Babatunde Oshinowo, Alhaji Ibrahim Soja and Dr. Chris Onyekachi.

Another highlight of the event was the presentation of a communique of the SSAs on the way forward for the council to the council chairman by the Hon. Funsho Abayomi Oduntan, the chairman Planning committee.
The vote of thanks was offered by the Leader of the House Hon. Idowu oluloro who remarked that the SSAs were ordained by God and gave kudos to the chairman for selecting the best for the job.

APC Adjusts Primary Elections Timetable Again, Shifts Special Congresses To May 16-17

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has once again proposed an adjustment of its Timetable for participation in the 2023 General elections and has moved its Special Congresses for Delegates to May 16 and 17. Special Congresses were originally scheduled to hold from Thursday, May 12, until the Party, which is currently racing against time, took the decision to change the date and allow time for critical announcements and orientation of committee members before the Congresses.
