THE QUIET SURGE: REMI ODUNSI JOINS KOSOFE REPS RACE AS DARK HORSE ~Second-time aspirant banks on skills, enterprise, and grassroots to challenge Ogbara, Osinowo for APC ticket
By Olusegun Apena
In the unfolding contest for the All Progressives Congress ticket in Kosofe Federal Constituency, a familiar name is re-entering the field with a different kind of momentum.
Mrs. Oluremi Oluwalogbon Odunsi, nation-building entrepreneur and venture builder, has declared her aspiration for the House of Representatives, Kosofe Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She comes into the race as an underdog. Party watchers say she may yet be the dark horse to steal the show.
Odunsi will square up against incumbent Hon. Kafilat Ogbara and former Agboyi-Ketu LCDA chairman Mayor Dele Osinowo in the APC primary. Both are formidable: Ogbara holds the seat and federal committee leverage; Osinowo commands a ward-level machine built over eight years in office.
Yet Odunsi’s aspiration is gradually gaining grassroots support across Kosofe, Ikosi-Isheri, and Agboyi-Ketu. In politics, never say never. Her case, supporters say, may resemble that of the late Michael Otedola who snatched the governorship ticket from Femi Agbalajobi and Dapo Sarumi. It may also mirror Barrister Moyosore Ogunlewe who, in 2021, won the APC Kosofe Local Government chairmanship ticket against established figures Musiliu Aigoro, Gbemisola Ketiku, Fatai Gbadebo and Lanre Carew against all odds.
Odunsi comes from a noble family with deep Kosofe roots. She contested for the same post in 2023 and has remained active in the constituency since.
MEET MRS. REMI ODUNSI
Mrs. Remi Odunsi describes her mission as simple and urgent: to deliver competent, accountable, and transformative representation to the people of Kosofe Federal Constituency.
A committed member and advocate of the All Progressives Congress, she aligns with the party’s vision of Renewed Hope and shared prosperity. She enters the race with a commitment to reposition Kosofe as a model of innovation, economic growth, and people-centered development.
Her life’s work, her team says, reflects a deep belief that strong institutions, empowered citizens, and inclusive governance are the foundation of sustainable national progress.
A TRACK RECORD OF NATION-BUILDING
Mrs. Odunsi has spent years building enterprises, institutions, and development platforms that solve real problems and uplift communities. She is the Founder of:
Eridan Group
A venture-building platform advancing entrepreneurship, SME expansion, innovation, and the future of work.
Lighthouse Group
Focused on food security, agriculture, and sustainable agro-value chains.
Threefold Impact
Dedicated to youth empowerment, women’s advancement, and skills development.
RDJ Estates
A real estate company committed to community development and long-term value creation.
Remi Odunsi Organization
A leadership and economic empowerment platform shaping strong, values-driven leaders across borders.
IMPACT RECORD IN KOSOFE
Beyond enterprise, Mrs. Odunsi has delivered direct impact to the people of Kosofe through empowerment, training, and community support initiatives. These include:
- Training over 5,000 individuals in Kosofe through Free Skills Acquisition Programs — helping residents build income-generating skills at no cost.
- Equipping women in Kosofe with entrepreneurial and financial literacy tools through the Street Business School initiative — helping them start and scale micro-businesses.
- Supporting APC community structures and mobilization efforts that strengthen democratic participation and grassroots engagement.
- Championing youth-focused programs that provide mentorship, digital skills, and pathways to economic opportunity.
Through these initiatives, she has empowered families, strengthened communities, and contributed to more resilient economic systems, her campaign states.
*WHY SHE IS RUNNING*
Mrs. Odunsi says she is contesting for the House of Representatives because Kosofe deserves leadership that is competent, strategic, people-focused, and aligned with APC’s agenda for national renewal.
Her vision is to:
- Rebuild trust between citizens and government
- Drive economic growth through SME support, innovation, and access to opportunities
- Champion policies that advance digital inclusion and job creation
- Empower youths and women as engines of community development
- Strengthen institutions for transparency, accountability, and service delivery
- Support APC developmental priorities at the federal, state, and constituency levels
She believes representation must be active, present, accessible, and impactful — not ceremonial.
A NEW CHAPTER FOR KOSOFE
Mrs. Remi Odunsi presents herself as part of a new generation of leadership — bold, strategic, compassionate, and ready to deliver results for Kosofe.
Her mandate, according to her team, is not just to win an election, but to:
Rebuild Hope. Restore Trust. Renew Kosofe.
“Kosofe is ready for a leader who works. Kosofe is ready for progress. Kosofe is ready for transformative representation,” her campaign declares.
THE POSSIBILITY
With Ogbara seeking a return ticket and Osinowo leveraging his LCDA record, Odunsi enters the primary as the third force.
She has no elective office and no major public endorsement yet. What she has is a record of training 5,000 residents, a 2023 campaign that built name recall, and a message of enterprise over handouts.
Against all odds, her aspiration is moving. In Kosofe politics, where underdogs have prevailed before, the possibility of winning the APC ticket remains open.
