PASTOR EMMANUEL OBU LAUNCHES “EXEGESIS 101: 100 RULES TO EXPLAINING AND UNDERSTANDING SCRIPTURES (VOLUME 2)” AT VIRTUAL EVENT

A virtual gathering of ministers, theologians, Christian faithful, friends and family across different regions and around the globe converged on Zoom on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for the official launch of Exegesis 101: 100 Rules To Explaining and Understanding Scriptures (Volume 2), the latest publication by Pastor Emmanuel Obu, the Apostle of Joy.

The event, which commenced at 2:00 PM, marked a significant milestone in Pastor Obu’s writing ministry, as the new release becomes his 26th published book. The launch brought together a diverse audience of church leaders, scholars, and supporters who reflected on the importance of sound biblical interpretation and celebrated the author’s growing influence in theological education.

A Gathering of Voices on Biblical Interpretation

The session opened with introductions and logistical updates, followed by prayers for a successful programme. Participants joined from various states and countries, highlighting the global reach of Pastor Obu’s ministry.

A major highlight of the event was the detailed book review delivered by Pastor Israel Jayeoba, who examined the depth and structure of Exegesis 101 Volume 2. He noted that the book presents practical rules for interpreting Scripture, with strong emphasis on historical and cultural contexts. According to him, the work provides clarity on complex biblical themes, including poetic expressions and metaphorical language, and addresses contemporary controversies within the Church.
Dr. Muoyo Okome, another keynote speaker, emphasized the necessity of exegesis as a foundational tool for accurate scriptural understanding. He cautioned against imposing modern interpretations on ancient texts, urging believers and ministers to approach Scripture with disciplined study and spiritual insight. In a show of support, he announced plans to donate ten copies of the book to the library of Baptist Academy, Lagos.

Emphasis on Sound Doctrine and Responsibility

Contributions from other speakers reinforced the central theme of responsible biblical interpretation. Pastor Olusegun Osunsan (a retired Regional Pastor in the RCCG) stressed the duty of preachers to rightly divide the Word of God, referencing biblical passages such as Romans 10:14 and 2 Timothy 2:15. He likened the use of Scripture to handling a weapon, warning that misinterpretation could lead to spiritual harm.
Pastor Segun Adegbiji also commended the author’s work, highlighting its connection between Old and New Testament teachings and its potential academic value. He suggested that the depth of the material could qualify for advanced theological study and encouraged further research into specific scriptural passages, particularly 1 Corinthians 7:15.

The Author’s Journey and Vision

In his remarks, Pastor Emmanuel Obu shared insights into his writing journey, revealing that his ministry began with divine inspiration received through a dream. He acknowledged the mentorship and support he has received over the years and described his writing as a long-term investment rather than a profit-driven venture.

He disclosed that previous editions of his books sold out within two months and expressed gratitude for the growing global readership. Pastor Obu also announced plans for an upcoming publication—a manual for young ministers titled Pocket Book For Ministers of The Gospel—scheduled for release between August and September this year.

He reiterated his long-term goal of publishing 100 books, a vision that drew encouragement from participants who challenged him to aim even higher.

Launch Session and Call to Action

The official launch session was led by Dr. Chris Abodunde Olukanni, alongside other ministers who offered prayers for the author, his family, and his ministry. The prayers focused on divine wisdom, fresh anointing, and continued global impact.

Participants were encouraged to support the ministry by purchasing copies of the book, sponsoring others, and sharing its message widely. A 30-Day Scripture Challenge was also introduced, urging readers to engage deeply with the Bible using the principles outlined in the book.

The book is currently available for purchase online on selar.com, with additional plans underway to provide a media kit to enhance its digital promotion.

Looking Ahead

As part of the next steps, Pastor Emmanuel Obu is expected to collaborate with his team on future editions and address theological insights raised during the event. Efforts are also being made to expand the book’s reach through institutional partnerships and digital platforms.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to supporters and well-wishers who have contributed to the success of the writing ministry. Attendees praised the initiative as timely and impactful, noting its potential to shape a new generation of ministers and believers grounded in sound biblical interpretation.

With the successful launch of Exegesis 101 Volume 2, Pastor Emmanuel Obu continues to solidify his place as a significant voice in contemporary Christian literature and theological discourse.
