By Olusegun Apena  Lagos — Mayor Dele Osinowo, former Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives, Kosofe Federal Constituency, setting up a three-way contest with incumbent Hon. The campaign organisation of Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran (BSO), aspirant for Kosofe Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has dismissed what it described as a “malicious smear campaign” by political opponents over his family background. In a press statement signed by the BSO Campaign Media and made available to Kosofe Reporters on Saturday, the group accused detractors of resorting to “personal, childish attacks” by questioning the parentage of the aspirant in a bid to distract from their lack of vision. “It has come to our attention that political opponents, in a desperate attempt to distract from their lack of a vision, have resorted to spreading malicious falsehoods regarding our symbol parentage,” the statement read. Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, has declared that all elective positions in the forthcoming primaries are open to contest, insisting there will be no imposition of candidates. In a statement on Wednesday, Ojelabi congratulated party leaders and members on the successful conduct of the National Convention, which he said “concluded the election of the officers of our party in its various segments.” “I thank you all for your support, resilience, and sacrifices in bringing this glory to our party,” he said. The Lagos State Police Command has directed the immediate and complete withdrawal of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) from traffic control and enforcement of traffic offences across the state. Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, gave the directive as part of efforts to streamline traffic management operations and ensure professionalism, accountability and clarity in the discharge of duties. According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the unit’s withdrawal is limited to traffic-related responsibilities, while all other assigned duties and operational mandates remain fully in force.
