A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State Alhaji Musiliu Aigoro has congratulated the newly crowned Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom Oba Babatunde Saliu over his ascension on Wednesday to the throne of his ancestors. Alhaji Aigoro in his congratulatory message described the emergence and installation of Oba Babatunde Saliu as the new monarch as a welcome development in the Oworonshoki Kingdom, stressing that the reign of the new monarch would usher in great development and prosperity in the Kingdom. He noted that the new monarch being an intelligent, vibrant and well-educated young man would bring to bear his wealth of accumulated experience in both public and private spheres on the affairs of the ancient kingdom. Moyo Ogunlewe Congratulates New Oloworo of Oworo Kingdom

The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Hon. Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe, has congratulated the newly crowned Oloworo of Oworo Kingdom, Prince Babatunde Saliu, on his emergence as the monarch of Oloworo Kingdom. The council boss, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Taiwo Fadipe, said "the appointment and ascension of my vice, marks the beginning of a new era in Oworoshoki Kingdom". Ogunlewe noted that the new traditional ruler’s experience in the corporate world, administration, politics and the traditional institution had prepared him for the new royal duties he is assuming. KOSOFE LG VICE-CHAIRMAN, BABATUNDE SALIU, IS THE NEW OLOWORO OF OWORO

The Vice-Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, Prince Babatunde Saliu, has become the new Oloworo of Oworonshoki Kingdom after his installation by the Lagos State Government. Babatunde Saliu was installed as Oloworo of Oworo on Wednesday at the Ministry of Local Government and community affairs where he was presented with a letter of appointment and staff of office. His installation as the new Oba of Oworonshoki Kingdom comes barely a year after he was elected as the Vice-Chairman of Kosofe Local Government and about 8 months after the demise of his father late Oba Bashir Oloruntoyin Saliu, the Elobo 1.

JUST IN: INEC Announces New Date For Submission Of Presidential Candidates, Running Mates, Others

  The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pegged the deadline for the submission of list of Presidential candidates and their running mates by political parties at June 17. The Commission warned the dedicated portal for the submission of list of candidates for national elections will automatically shut down at 6.00pm (1800hrs) on Friday 17th June 2022.   However for governorship and House of Assembly elections, the list of candidates shall be uploaded from 1st to 15th July 2022.   INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, gave the hint at a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja on Thursday. The Commission stressed further that only names of candidates that emerged from democratic primaries as provided by Sec. 84 of the Electoral Act 2022 shall be submitted.
